Hi !

It's the first time I'm posting something here so I hope I am in the right place... If I'm not, I am really sorry.

Okay so I want to ask something about wasteland. Nothing to do with gameplay or mechanics or anything like that. I only want to know if there is a way to not have the color of our country in them ? Is there anyway to keep them colorless forever ?

Why am I asking this ? Because I really find that ugly on the map when it take the color of a country, at least for most of wasteland, mainly in Africa and Arabia. To illustrate I'll post a screen of one of my game. Here, I clearly think that it will be better to look at if it stayed colorless...
Anyway, I think that my question is understandable... At least I hope so.

- Is there anyway to make wasteland colorless and still play with achievments on. An option, or an ironman compatible mod ? I don't know...

I believe that's something you can change in the Display Options.
"Color Wasteland", or "Fill-in Wasteland"

It's an option when you start a new campaign, you can't change it for ongoing ones though.

I'm the opposite, I actually like coloured wastelands. To me it makes sense, if I own all the land around the Alps then I own the Alps. Leaving them not my country's colour makes them look like unclaimed land in my view, and they can look a bit ugly sticking out.

Some of the wastelands are to big, especially in Africa and schould be not included in this rule

Yeah, by testing I saw that. I love it if it's not colored for wasteland in africa or arabia. But mountains should be colored tho.

Depends on the zoom. If al of Africa is merely a part of what you're seeing, I think those patches shouldn't stand out as other than yours.

i can take or leave it on vanilla earth map, because i have enough hours and basic idea of geography to more or less know where they are, despite that pdox takes some liberties with the standards of "wasteland" depending on where in the world it is...some traversible areas in-game look a heck of a lot like non-traversible ones elsewhere.

however, in modded play, coloring wastelands is awful, especially on conversion maps that don't at all resemble earth like anbennar. it actually becomes annoying to tell where you're able to move troops haha.

If I disable it the Alps look like tumors blighting my beautiful country.
