Hello, I just want to know if anyone would be interested in doing a Warhammer 40k mod. :)
I was playing with that idea quite a long time, but never did something except some model pics. :p

I played 40k when I was in school, so I'm not to deep in this business anymore, but I'll try :D

Wikipedia says: Warhammer 40,000's space-fantasy is set in a fictional universe in the forty-first millennium. Its various factions and races include the Imperium of Man, a decentralized yet totalitarian interstellar empire that has ruled the vast majority of humanity for millennia, the Orks, the Eldar, and Daemons, among others.

I think this mod has great potential, because there are only few background informations you need to know (it's more or less an epic battle between all the factions) and then you can get right into action.
I'm not into the mapping but I think a own map would be important for this. The earth is also in the 40k universe, but I think Darkest Hour has much potential if it leaves the earth and goes extraterrestrial :D

That's interesting.
When we play in a completely different world,we may not feel the rut.

As you say, I also think map's important.
In strategic games, the map is the same every play, every time almost same tactics , I think it will be in fixed and not interesting.
Even if small maps, it is more interesting when we play in a different map every play.
Previously, if there is any map-generator mod, I think this game would be more interesting, Although very difficult.

But any map-modifying requires a lot of effort and long time to make and plain work.
There is some information of map editor on the useful-tools thread above.

good luck!

thank you :)
If someone is interested, there was a world wide campaign called Medusa V some years ago. This campaign would be perfect, because all factions were involved and there is also a map of the planet. Or for those who know what I'm talking about, Armageddon campaign could also be a good map. :D

Fantastic !!! I have played for years in Warhammer 40,000. I played with the space marine Blacks Templars .
The Armageddon campaign is a good choice; Imperial Guard, Space Marines of the various chapters and millions of ORKS Waagh !!!
