I was wondering if War Scenarios or somthing like it will be placed in the game where you play a nation during the time of a histroic conflict. I know there was a good bit of wars that chould be used Notable ones like the American Revolution and the 7 years war. The English Civil War and so on. I could be a good idea for those who want a quick few hours of game play that can be done in a night or one Multiplayer session.

I like this idea. It would be nice to be able to play a map with only England on it, and fight as either the Cavaliers or the Roundheads! (aka Royalists and Parliamentaries)

Well Paradox has already helped you part of the way there with the feature of being able to start on any date.

EU is less battle-orientated then HOI. I'm not sure that's a good idea... of course depends on the battle system and such, but somehow i think it would be quite boring actually.

I don't know so much about this. See, Hearts of Iron manages (just barely, but it makes it.) to be fun and engaging as a purely operational game, that's why battle scenarios of individual campaigns work.

In all the other EU games, individual wars could be tense, but they weren't usually very exciting or 'deep'. Wars were tools that you used to get ahead in the game, not the meat of the game itself, like Hearts of Iron.

What would be better is a series of "War Scenarios" with specialized events and event chains, ala the Victoria "Great War" scenario.

For instance, the Seven Year's War, the Thirty Year's War, and the War of Spanish Succession, would all be ideal for this sort of global scenario.

I'd just like to mention that the original EU had something like this: the amount of nations you could choose was less and you had specific objectives; whoever completed them first won. The non-essential part of the map was still shown and the rest of the game mechanics worked properly so it wasn't like HoI2.

It could be interesting for something like the 30 Years War (Is that what it's called? My history knowledge is getting shoddy) as it was long, involving a large area with lots of territory changes etc. For shorter wars it would be boring as the operational stuff isn't interesting and politics didn't matter so much.

In English it is.
