I just saw the week 36 screenshots and something came to my mind. I don't know if it has been mentioned before but I'll say it anyway.

One thing that I find very annoying during the peace negotiation process is that even if the AI is willing to give me 250 ducats as part of the deal I often don't get the amount because they don't have 250 ducats. Can you change that in EUII?

Sorry if it has been mentioned many times before......

Yes, Johan have said that AI nations will be forced to take loans to pay war reparations.

Yes, look closely at the screenshot and note the differences... :)

The more you ask in money, the more pourcentages rises, the less it could be accepted unless a big victory. It will be relative to the loser's force and economy.

Sorry, so then that means if you score a crushing victory, it is possible to what? Ask for the Sun and the Moon, and have Saturn thrown in to?

Just kidding, just kidding:D But really, is that what the over 100% thing means?

I don't know yet, but I beleive the percentage works like this, 0% is minimum which means you are demanding that they give you their land without you having any claim on it, while 200% is max, because that then means you controll all of their posessions... But of course I'm only guessing here..

The way that it seemed to me was that the percentages would (once again, similarly to inflation) actually be a representation of a 'level' rather than a true percentage.

Thus, if you had fought a war with Austria and kicked serious booty, you might have a victory level of 160% (capturing several provinces, winning battles, etc.)... this means that you could probably demand Styria (86% for example) and Carpathia (24% for instance) and have only demanded 110%...

This is how I read it and how a couple of others seem to have read it in the threads as well.

I will be enormously interested to know how this really works, however. 'Specially since this isn't how percentages are used in the real world. :D

And of course, colonies with have a low relative pourcentage value compared to national provinces, unless they are cities. :D

So, you can pretty much guess what shall happened in colonial wars? :)

Yes... which will hopefully be coupled with AI improvements enabling the computer to defend its colonies somewhat. As it is it's too easy to send a cavalry detachment romping through the Gulf Coast to force peace with Spain on any terms you choose... I shudder to think what will happen if you can do that on a grand scale and end up getting their whole colonial empire (I know, I know, "Spain" per se isn't in the game. :D).

It seems that there will finally be a reason to fight colony wars. I mean if you occupy a colony in EU it doesn't add much to your "stars count" but nevertheless the colonies cost two stars to obtain them.
