2014 was a golden year for myself, and I would argue that War of the Vikings was what did it. This one niche title provided me hundreds of hours of stabby and arrow-shooty fun.
There was some guy that got rediculously good at daggers and would wreck groups of players with backstabs. I've also not seen such excellent dueling in a game since Condemned 2 (yes, odd title for excellent melee).
It was a bit sad how small the community got even a year out, but it was still great since you knew who you were dueling and if you had lost to the them before. If I made the money then that I do now, I even would have purchased the coins on offer.
Anyone else miss this wonderful game? Two-Hand axe was OP.
Someday, in a half-century time, PDX might just publish another one of these bad boys.
