It started to rain again. He sat in his foxhole, holding his rifle and waited. He wasn't sure, what he was waiting for. Maybe an enemy assault. Maybe the order to storm the other line. The battle now raged for almost two weeks. The priests told them to have faith in the Gods. Pray and fight. Like allways. Since the dawn of man, the only thing, soldiers had to do, was to pray and fight.

Suddenly someone yelled. "They're coming! Get yourself ready! They're coming!"

He jumped to his feet and looked across what used to be a pleasant valley. Through the mud and the craters they came. It seemed to be a major assault this time. Thousands of soldiers. Hundreds of tanks. Those metal beasts armed with several cannons and machine guns.

The priests in his back had started their chanting. Louder and louder grew their prayers.

Now all hell broke loose. The artillery opened fire. The roar of the guns sounded like a god's war cry. The whole valley seemed to explode, as the enemy troops were welcomed with fire.

As the smoke cleared, his heart nearly stopped beating. Out of the mud, the smoke, the fire a single, giant creature rose. It screamed out in fury and blood lust.

The enemy Wargod himself had materialized in an Avatara to aid his followers and turn the battle in his favour. Now, the only thing left to do was to pray to the gods and fight.


Welcome to my first mod attempt!
The main idea of this mod is, that every nation has it's own Gods. These Gods are quite real and use their followers to go to war with each other. They may aid their followers in many different ways, even entering the battlefield themself.
But thats not the only new thing! You will be able to command Battlemages! Boost the morale of your troops with priests! Suppress partisans with Psychologists! ("You're not really hating the occupation forces. You're hating your father and try to compensate this by attacking some foreign soldiers") And many other exciting stuff, too!

Name of the country: Technocratic Union
Where's the country: Anatolia, this is, the actual "Turkey" country in HOI2 minus Istanbul
Industrial Situation: An advanced country in terms of technology, but only has a few industrial centres, namely Ankara and Bursa (the capital), with dispersed factories through the country.
Gods: The Technocratic Union rather prefers to call its only god (yes, they are monotheistic) "our esteemed benefactor", the god itself is not a "magic god" in the common sense of the word, but an highly advanced self-aware technobiological AI, maybe built by aliens, maybe sent from the future, that has taken control of the zones where its "chosen" have built "obelisks" (which in effect, are nodes that connect to the "greater obelisk" in Bursa, the AI itself). Its biological part permits him to control every thing in the atmosphere and geosphere, to a limited degree of course, let me explain, it can make rains, hurricanes, move mountains and make the terrain fertile, even build "earth golems" from the rocks. But he can't provoke a monsoon or a earthquake. An element that it can't control fully is water, due to a design flaw. This makes people think that it is a God that can indeed give them fertile earth and plenty of rains, and protect them from the other "real" gods. Due to it being a machine and from a distant future, it taught them (through it's "techno-priests") advanced 20th century era technology, but not 21th century or beyond technology, as it finds "amusing" how organics fight for such things as "faith" with weapons that it deems "brutish and archaic" . It's followers think that it is "The God of Technology". The AI itself is named "X37X32", but due to misspelling and for discretion, he is commonly called "Xerxes". He only appears in battle when the enemy attack their territory, and its avatar is a giant metallic monster that comes from the deep underground of the country.

And some information about the country:
It is ruled by a council of scientists chosen by "Xerxes" himself, and as such, The Technocratic Union is an "Oligarchic Technocracy". they are 10, known as the "High Technomancers", and above them there's only "Xerxes", which appears to them as a grey cloud with a peerless eye in the centre (an holographical projection, which X37X32 deems worth of it), and gives them the information on how to rule and on technology. The centres of worship are the "obelisks", and usually around them there's a temple built.

Hey, that's a great idea! I can do lot for this mod, if you just name what I should to do... I even can try to help with tech tree, however, I'm not very good with them.

Name of the country: Thy Winter Kingdom
Geographics: In southern Norway, and if you could, please change coastal provinces to forests and inland provinces to mountains.

Industrial situation: advanced technologies, you know, guys are individualists etc. so they are "good". But industry sucks, because black metalists have ruined industry and moved to countryside to their own farmlands. Maybe factory or two per province, mountainous provinces have zero industry.
Capital: Oslo (Mayhem was located here :))
Gods: Black Metal Godz :D Gods could be something like God of Venom (First wave), God of Mayhem (Second wave) and God of False (Melodic/Symphonic metal). Two first ones are in alliance, Mayhem leading, but the last one tries to be friend with others, but the first and two are hating him.
Policies: What will be your sliders? I would recommend political Left-Right changing to Anarchy-Order. Then just put these guys to anarchy...

Yeah, I listen black metal, but I'm not so much in it, that I can't joke with the clichés of the genre :p In my opinion this was nice idea, so add it if you want. If you accept adding it I can help with this.

The Rustlands claim to be the last remnants of the Empire Which Stretched from Sea to Shining Sea. Since the Big Collapse the people of this land had been relying on their steady and strong industrial might to defend themselves and provide them with a source of income. However after the awakening, they found themselves looking for their protector, hoping not to be swallowed up like so many of their trading partners and adversaries.

So they toiled and struggled and built better and stronger machines to protect them, investing their blood and sweat into them. And lo, from that toiling and blood; struggling and sweat one of their great Engineers saw that their light and protector was Progress. Thusly he built a small temple to Progress, to worship his Lord and Protector and others came, they brought Ideas, Steel, Sweat, Oil and even Old Fire. They helped to build Progress's first Avatar, and filled him with his lifesblood. And He awoke and defended his people, leading them to great victories and awakening their minds to new ideas.

Progress's form is ever-changing, always building as His worshipers fill their god with their drive and ingenuity. Some changes are more successful than others, but both He and his Engineers are always learning and pushing forward. Progress is currently a massive construct of gears and pipes; engines and canons; iron plating; oils and steam. Looking like so many other Walking-Batteries if not for dwarfing them in stature. The small nation is currently pushing the limits of their own resources and will soon need to look elsewhere to fuel their forges, foundries and factories. He can feel people across the globe calling upon Him and He cannot help but answer He knows that when he comes to their nation and destroys their protector that His answered prayers of wisdom to those people will only drive His people to even more impressive levels of great.

The capital is in the Indianapolis province, the capital city is Gary.
Their flag should be 5 horizontal bars of red (3) and white (2) behind a steel gray cog/wheel.
The day to day running of the state is done by the Enginarchs, as they have been come to be called engineers who administer the might machine (as it were) of the government. Progress himself cannot be bothered with many of their trivialities, but their pursuits still serve to feed Him as well.

I also have this idea in my head about some proper mythological destruction/death deity who isn't really big on needing supplies or anything. He'd have really high attrition rates, and a high manpower bonus, and minimal supply requirements for his line troops, though he'd still be able to build Walking Batteries and such, for those sticky points, where sacrificing ten thousand men just doesn't work.

I was also thinking a Mad Caesar would be quite awesome. Claims on the Roman Empire. Is Caesar reborn. All of the Caesars, crammed into one god-made-flesh's head. He'd be completely nuts.

Where's the country: Ukraine and northern Caucasus.
Industrial Situation: Pretty low tech, but capable of massive mass production, represented by very cheap inf.
Gods: The peninsula of Taurica was once an unnamed, godless place, devoid of civilization and ruled by savages. But one night, the mighty Tauris came to them, and found a people in desperate need of salvation. He blessed their farmlands, which was not the only fertility he blessed, as he knew his people needed to be many to defend against the infidel beasts lurking outside their lands, and soon, his people were healthy and many. It was time to expand, and he brought his people north, beyond the Taurica, where they colonized a lovely area situated between two mighty rivers. Farmlands and rich soil are far as the eye could see, and Tauris gave them the tools to increase the output tenfold. The number of servants skyrocketed, and Tauris knew he soon would have to give his people even more living space. But he also knew there would be lesser beings wanting to take that space. His people knew how to fight, they had showed so when they expanded northwards at the expense of the native infidels, but now they needed more advanced weapons. As soon as he gave them the concept of the mighty Firespitter, they were already constructing crude copies of it, and when he gave them the ability to mass-produce it, soon there were small factories all over his lands, and enough Firespitters to arm the entire population, and soon the Firespitters were found in different variants from small sidearms to massive cannons. Tauris will soon be worshiped by all!

And some information about the country:
Tauris usually appears in Human form, ruling his minions as a Human king would, but with Human aides to ease the burden, of course. He resides in the great capital of Tauripolis (Sevastopol), home of twenty million servants. However, through priests he can boost the bravery and ferocity of his men, wherever they may be.
Taurica uses huge Human wave tactics with massive fire support, but employing somewhat antiquated weaponry. Think of it as beefed-up WW1 Russia with modern China's population, or something like that ;)

Well, it's good ol' HoI2 DD.
I'll replace some units with something new and cool, like replacing MP Brigades with Priests, Psychologists or political commissars, depending on the tech you choose.
The Gods will influence the game mostly through random events, which move sliders, erase or give dissent, give blueprints or resources. The biggest aid, the Gods can give there followers, is sending them an Avatara of them selfs. Those are represented through a very powerful Division, which can't be build and is only available via event.
ATM I'm thinking about whether or not making this totally random or give it some prerequests.
Since I started this mod just two days ago, there is not much more to tell about the implemention of the Gods into the game. Hope that answers your question.
If anyone has another idea, how to implement the gods, please, let me know it!

Depends on the country. If you have an absolute theocracy, all power is concentrated on the priests, so your ministers will be priests as well. If your country is ruled by an military, royal or whatever oligarchy, your ministers will be military men, businessmen or aristocrats and the priest will play a lesser role, mostly appeasing the gods.
So, tell me what your country is like, and I will give my best to represent it in the game. Every thing you don't tell me, I will make up and give my best to make it fit into.

So, I'm decided to make up a country myself. The territory can be seen in the Worldmap. It's the blueish one in East Asia.

In the beginning, The Creator made the world. He populated it with all the animals. But he wasn't satisfied. So he created Man to serve him and praise his greatness. But Man wasn't perfect enough, so The Creator send him out in the world, alone. In order to create the most perfect being that was worthy of serving and praising him, The Creator raped his very own daughter Aruuna. She gave birth to Seven Sons. These Seven Sons weren't like their Father. They had four arms each and had a dark blue skin. They were great warriors, and soon Aruuna wanted her beloved sons to avenge what her Father, The Creator, had done to her. So the Seven Brothers took up arms against The Creator of life and all the world and battled Him for four thousand years. In the end, the Seven Brothers weren't strong enough to defeat The Father of all Life. He, on the other hand, wasn't strong enough to kill his children, so Aruuna and her Sons fled to Earth, to hide among the Man. Aruuna fell in love with the chief of a clan of strong warriors. She and her Sons swore to teach them the art of war and protect them against The Creator, who hates his own creation and seeks to destroy humanity, so he can once again try to create the perfect servent.

The Nation of Aruun is a very militaristic one. Everything is under control of the Party of the Seven Sons, the only party in all of Aruun, which is led by the strongest warrior, the ilKahn. If an ilKhan dies, his successor is determined through a battle of life and death.
Every clan can nominated a candidate for this battle for the title of the ilKhan, but the candidate must be a member of the Party of the Seven Sons.

The industrial base is fairly good, but the nation lacks and adequate electronic branch. The military is one of the best trained in the world, but Aruun lacks the manpower for a long war of attrition.

The Clans
The society is based around clans. Some clans still live as nomads, as they have done for millennia. Some live in villages and work on the farmlands, which are owned by the clan. More and more Clans are turning towards the cities. They work in the factories, they run shops, they work in every job. Still, the bond within a clan is very strong, even in a big city. Clanmembers support each other. Only those, who violate the rules of the clan eldest, are banned from the clans to fend for them self. No Clansman in his right mind would ever help such an outlaw.

The Party of the Seven Sons
Every clan has at least a few clansmen which are members of the Party. No one can hope to rise to any kind of power without being a partymember. To become a Member of the Party, one must be a Warrior and be nominated by a Member of the Party. Every Warrior, who has passed the basic training and has joined the regular forces can be nominated. Since being a Partymember is necessary to be promoted to an officer or to become a general, most soldiers join the Party. Normally they are nominated by a Member of the same Clan.

The Military
The Groundtroops of Aruun are among the best trained and equipped of the world. The biggest part is made up by Infantry, which is often supported by heavier troops, such as artillery and tanks. Cavalry makes up the second biggest part. Those troops are often recruited among the nomad clans. The military has a mediocre size for a country of this size and industrial capacity, due to the relative small population.
The airforce is fairly good, as the nation has started a huge modernization and expansion program in the last years.
The navy is designed for coastal defence, which means there are no major battleships.

The Pantheon
Aruuna is the main Goddess in the Pantheon of Aruun. She gives and takes life, she can heal diseases, she is the Goddess of fertility and love, she provides protection for the weak. In the Aruun society, orphans are given into the hand of a priestess or priest of Aruun, since no one else would care about an orphan, if the child is not part of the clan. Those children are raised as priestesses, priests, nuns and monks. Those, who are clanless pray to Aruuna for help and seek protection and work in the temples and monasteries of Aruuna.
Aruuna temples can be found in almost every city and town across the nation, most in the middle of the slums, where the clanless life. And even if no Clansman would never give something to a clanless, donating to the Aruuna temples and monasteries, which care for the poor, is common among the clans. Even the nomads donate at least once a year a greater sum to Aruuna.

Aruuna's Sons are mainly War dieties. They taught the nomads how to fight and they taught them well.

Dar'ash is the eldest of Aruunas Sons. He is the strongest fighter among the brothers and is said to give the warriors of his choice brutish power and a demonic blood lust. He is also the male fertility deity of the Aruun Pantheon and young women pray to him in order to give birth to a strong and healthy boy. The factory workers pray to him, for he is said to have taught humans how to make fire and to melt metal to form superior weapons.

Suun Ke is the second eldest of the Brothers. He has lost one of his left arms in the war against The Creator, as he defended the youngest of the brothers from a furious attack of The Creator. He is the most noblest of the brothers and encourages soldiers to protect the innocent and curses those, who rape and murder. Warriors, which are wounded in battle pray to him for protection and to help them recover from their injuries.
The Seven Sons do not have any kind of temples or priests, but every clan has a shrine to sacrifice a few drops of blood to them before a battle or during wartime, so the Seven Sons watch over the Warriors of the Clans.

Kin'de and Da'roon are twins. They look exactly like each other and use this often to confuse their enemies. They also use this to play tricks to their brothers (especially Dar'ash, who quickly looses his temper). They cheat on everyone, but are also loyal to their Mother and Brothers. Sometimes they act foolish, sometimes they act wise. Since it's impossible to know who is who they are worshipped as if they were a complete unit. They are the gods of loyalty and brotherhood. Also, they act as Protectors of the fools and the wise alike.

Ramad is the third youngest Son of Aruuna. He is the calmest of the Brothers and can sit for centuries at one spot, just meditating. He guides those, who seek the truth and helps making decisions. The warriors he choices are always great commanders. They keep a clear mind, even when the battle rages around them. They never panic, but are able to lead their troops, even if the battle seems lost. He is the God of strategical warfare.

Nadesh, the second youngest of the Seven, is the most careless of the Brothers. He risks his neck, just to try something new or funny. In battle, he fights bravely, but very impulsive. Most people think, that he commands the wind, because he can change his mind every second. Sailors and Pilots alike pray to him for protection.

Li'tar is the youngest of the Brothers. He is the weakest fighter of the seven and is more interested into poetry and wine than weapons. Bars and Restaurants often have a Li'tar shrine in the kitchen. In war, he is said to protect the cooks and the supply staff, making sure, that Aruun warriors will never have to starve.

The Blena-Goths

The Gothids (of the nation of Gotha) are the most ancient of all beings, for many thousands of years they have exsisted in peace with there tree filled lands (namely Provinces 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and there capital being in Sheffield). But suddenly there is a shift in natures balance with the fall of there sacred tree and the sudden reappearance of their most holyest of Gods to physical form:

Nahharla - Goddess of the lakes (A sort of walking puddle of water, Gives bonuses to the Navy when in a battle and also gives a bonus to the researching of secret weapon technology)

Long Horn - God of the Forest (Like Tree Beard a walking tree, gives bonuses to the army and a bonus to the researching of industrial and military technology)

Aurora - Holyest of all Gods and goddess of the clouds. (not quiet sure what she's going to be i'm thinking of some sort of Giant cloud possibly, gives bonuses to the airforce and gives a building bonus)

These are signs for the Gothids to move out from the shadows of the trees and start the mobilisation of there forces to protect there people and what they find most sacred. These are a people who will NEVER heel to evil and foreign Gods.


I'm thinking that this is a nation with very little industry and infrastructure but the bonuses from the god's and the abundent natural resources should help them in the long run. A nation for the long term rather than a immediate.

I'm not 100% sure if this sort of nation is possible but it would be nice if you could.

The sea ppl are a new human race which are aggresive and good seamen, they are building new ships all the time to become feared all over the world,
they mainly use combined fleets of CL's and BB's iceland is there homan but they got small colonies in greenland and part of canada.

they have sliders set at freetrade high, prof army and a Facist dictator (me)
