Problem statement:
It's often difficult to visually see on the map whom you're at war with, where all their territories are, who is also in the war with you, and what systems you must occupy in order to achieve your war goals.

Request:
Make a map mode that lets you select a currently active war (could be any war in the galaxy) and paint the map with an overlay of the attackers and defender. Additionally highlight which sectors are part of the war goals (can reuse the system claim graphic painted different colors for attacker and defenders).
The war selection for the map mode should be a separate window and not a selection made by clicking on an empire's territories/border, as you'd likely be doing so during an active war and wouldn't want the mode mode changing every time you clicked inside the enemies territory.

Additionally it would be great to see enemy/ally fleets in the mode from a full zoomed out galaxy view, or at least some type of representation of where all known fleets are for empires participating in the war.

Anyone you're war with has red fleets.
Yellow fleets are neutral, blue fleets are allies and green are yours.
Pretty clear to me.

You can then also check opinion or diplomatic map modes.

This is how diplomatic map mode used to work. You'd click it, then click an empire and any they were at war with would be red.

It has actually not played for a while, but if I recall correctly the diplomatic map mode had some issues last I did. Like, if your overlord Is the main target for a war, but you're not, it won't show the ones you're at war with in red. And if an empire declares war on you and have subject allies in the war, only the one that declared it will be red and not the others.

As I said, I can't confirm this. But what you're requesting should be covered by the diplomatic map mode.

Diplomatic doesn't quite do everything that I want it to do.
1. It doesn't show which systems must be taken by a side to fulfill the war goals.
2. If you accidentally click a different empire's space the diplomatic map mode will switch to the map focus to that empire.

#1 would be a real improvement as of right now the only way that I know to check the systems that you need to conquer is in the hover text of the "Achieve War Goal" button on the war window, or by looking at ALL the war participants and checking their claims of every Empire on your side in the Diplomatic map mode.
What I'm proposing just streamlines that into a quicker to view and understand map mode.

Additionally I proposed that you could view any current war (even ones that you are not active in). I'd like to see it as a list that you could select from.
This would let you quickly see what wars other players or the AI are engaged in and the claims the are fighting over.
