Looking at the game board Dago I can see why. Prussia got Russia on her side and OE and England were two little fiends and Spain didn't do anything likely.

You see the typical gameset here... Imbalanced, you need to place a good player in France... Also those players like Drake HG or John or anyone like that you need to place them in position where they cannot make too many deals. Neighbored by players that will force them to fight.

i defeated OE-france alliance for 2 times,with HG and TAF,after 1740 (but pratically both without Fred2  )

after this, all other wolves jumped on OE :p

Yes, but all imbalanced. OE late game is a weaker nation without leaders it's a victim to Naval Nations with the ability to hit her vast flanks and it takes her forever to chase down every single high percentage Core that means her doom. The OE virtually has to garrison a Million Men and have a good Naval Ally or something of a miracle. That or outright win the game before 1650-1700 area somewhere like that.

Russia look at it, she is a Beast, along with Prussia. If I had been playing France, Prussia and Austria would've been forced to be my friends or I would've divided Austria and Italy with Prussia's help. Where was the French ambassador? Not there apparently. Sweden, Austria and OE alliance is a farfetched one, only 1 of them has good amount of MP. How many of these 3 were crack elite WarMongers? I'll bet only Drake, and he was not present after his Allies got maulled.

Really in this game you'd need something like this. Drake/John/Spain vs Prussia/Russia to be balanced.. France-Austria as sideline supporters. Otherwise it wouldn't be a balanced gameset... Austria and Sweden as I saw were non-factors... P-Russia was One Nation... 1 Nation of Total Coninental Dominance, not even England's vast fleet and great Leaders could do anything vs that... Wellington is only good IMO backed up by another Major Land Power and since France seems not even present well, what you know.

I guess I didn't see all the way through but as usual Beli-John-Drake-Whoever this Spanish Fellow was are by far the most skilled Players and ate the rest and gave no respect to boundaries or balance. Though I suppose that is the price you get for playing with the Big Boys.

You guys should've brought me in as France, I would have never fell to Dago's Prussia.. Even if the cost was Heavy I would have fought till the last man... and OE, that is an ackward looking OE... Who let her get like that? Drake's sidedeals early on with Beli likely?

You can have too many deals, perhaps a game with a limited # of deals and a limited # of peace/provinces/and set alliances would be nice.. Say for instant an On-Line roll of the dice forcing the breaking of a Deal instead of Friendship. I always hated playing against Drake and his one Bud from New Zealand. Unbreakable Alliance. Poor TAF, he's too stubborn and too anti-political to win EU2 games..

I had to learn that was the only way you win... Friends and buying time for whatever nation you choose. England is one of the few nations that can tend to be a loner..even then Spain/Port can hurt her early. Very fragile balance system in EU2

first: of all at the time i left ottos beat england at sea had spain-france-austria-bb as ally/friends meaning i wouldn't be ganged aslong as that situation continiud and just killed marlborough in a preemtive strike a session or so before( no ganging = wouldn't be able to take me down unles england and russia both had some really uber leaders )

secund: i made sure i didn't have alot of coast to guard outside the med when i left it was only 2seazones entrance to my part of the med sicily-tunis and only arabia i had to worry

third: ottos has medium and large fortresses everywhere including a ussuall standing army of arround 5-600k in peacetime Before barracktime

4the: when i played i pretty much had the game in my pocket ottos was uber asstrong as england at sea and astrong as russia on land easy the uber part stil remains i had france-spanish-austria as loyal allys and dago wouldn't attack me regardless probaly + sweden needed me so in the end i had only 2folks able to attack me england-russia

i had hoped hg would do some serious warmongering with this ottos but didn't happend :(

yeah :)
these war were the first defeats of OE,in all the game
first happened in 1735 about, and obviously have Fred2 for last 4 years of war helped me too, even if i kept very well also until that moment
the second war, about 1755,and Fred2 died in first battles randomly,so i should do without him

iirc, after this, about 6-7 years later, england and russia dowed OE (surely much weakened) ,and i joined too gaining liguria and emilia (i got lombardia before). But at this point hg was just gone
This was my only dow vs OE,but considered what they did me before,i think they deserved it
