But my dear Friend Dago, You had one of the most Powerful Land nations in the World to back you up ;) I poured 10 or 20k of ducats into your economy. I just was overextended in 3 fronted wars or I would have done much more. Diplomatically I failed us, but I was too kind in that game. I should've destroyed Flanders and Moscowy when I had power. I should've negotiated with Scotland. I should have done so many things but then again we would have been enemies and instead we went down in a blaze of Glory.
At one time I recall 2 million Allied troops vs our 800k<they could resupply and refit and had 500-1000 warships> we contended with that alone and held our own through 6-7 World Wars! With 1/5th ducats. All we had was grit determination, a few fire leaders... That was it!
That and much much better tactics!

I believe even as the game ended, Flanders was about to surrender all her Lands and though the East was Lost we would have settled our New World in France and Connected with newly found Brethren in Iberia and developed the Western European Alliance... That would've crushed Scotland over the Straits of Dover and then turned upon Moscowy and Byzantium to send them to the pits of hell.. Oh what a beautiful warring game that was ;)

I slaughtered 10 Million men in less than 25 years and you with a modest army 3 or 4 million

Actually you ruined game balance by leaving! :confused: The new Perm, though halfway loyal to me, forced Moscovy to turn against me and you were the only other naval nation and all you did was side with Scotland. Turned out sort of boring

The Two Land Powers, that developed<I was sorta thinking of going Naval till you betrayed me> stuck together and the two naval powers stuck together. It was a foriegn monopoly.

I would have prefered you presence. I would have totally annexed your entire nation ;) My Land Slider was set low while we were at war, as time went on the leaders changed from Flanders to Germany which gave you an initial edge and with my morale increase you were clam chowder

HG in OE, hmmm... I think it's a nice additive, he's aggressive and economically similar Drake... Very innovative with their 5 year plans, just sacrifice off a few hundred thousand peasants and viola a Weapons Manu :rofl:

about discussions about importance of cannons,this is my humble opinion :

mass cannon is always bad move,also with 60 LT
obviously,if u ve a very strong leader (as Nappy) u can hope to make it work for a bit,but not in long range
armies need be balanced,and another thing : 70k inf and 200 cannons will suffer a lot less attrition than 20k inf and 700 cannons : and fuck this last kind of troop is very easy : a question of time
with 41 LT,it is simply a suicide
the 20k inf/700 cann can maybe smash the first enemy army (example a 90k inf),but at 2nd one they are dead.Wanna make calculs about who spent more?
i m lucky to have learned it when i started play in MP,and i learned it by Prinz (so isnt a prob of last beta ; i m talking about 1 year and half ago)

another thing : i ve found that land in port while enemies are sieging it is another bad move : it could work when enemies has low morale (for a assault unsuccesfull or a battle lost) : but land with enemy at full morale is always very dangerous and risky

Dago, you better come prepared when it comes to Massed Cannons. If you do not have a great leader with you and lots and lots of Reserve Infantry it can turn into a Disaster true!

What'll happen is they'll attrit first, the Inf then a 50k-70k Inf Army will be eaten away by Masses of Infantry...If they can trap it properly... However if you can feed a 200k Infantry Army with 1000-1500 Cannons from Sea and keep it well fed indefinitely it's unstoppable, just choose low attrittion areas, focus on Ports and Key Strategic Points... The Cannons will bust any fort and Army with a good Fire leader and Manuever will even will you to retreat in a pinch... You only need to beware of the opposite be better than your own.

Someone who pushes to far forward with Cannons will get eaten up by attrittion then a good counterattack but one who continually backs up will make up for their losses and inflict heavy damage if the enemy attempts to engage them. The Point is Blitzkrieg then force a Peace by Stabhit.. If the Enemy is wise and doesn't allow you to ever Mass a Kill all the way then it's over... If however you drive on his Capitol before attrittion hits and all of his Key Provinces and he's a small nation like say Austria, Prussia, or Coastal Nation like OE, UK, things get hairy... regardless of what technique you use to repell...

I have found all over that you need a good 1000 cannons.. I showed that Russia could be defeated with Wellington I overcame him and without be betrayed by my Allies I could've overrun him completely nearly. Even though I have about 4 or 5 months of Good Weather and a shortage of Land Units..

I made two major errors however, Naval Leader wasn't in the right place, not enough Infantry, Not enough time... I forced 5-6 stabs on him though and would've had my peace... with Massed Cannons in the most unworkable terrain, he did however nearly kill Wellington with 200k infantry vs 80k of Infantry.. A clever retreat and coastal Power did however defeat him. Both Naval and Massed Cannon is like Bed and Breakfeast ;)

obviously a 200k inf with 1000 cannons is perfect (and rather balanced army)
but unbalanced armies forward cannons are bad,imho
