I'm Castile and decide to shoot out of 1419 as a bad boy, warmonger. I immediately build troops to the max, attack Portugal, seize all provinces except the Azores.

Why is my wartime rating at 19+. I can't even get one province in peace. I really want Tago, the Center of Trade, but this is also the capital of Portugal.

Must I take the Azores (thus 100 percent of all provinces) and then will I get options to vassal, annex, etc.?

I'm really struggling to understand just about every aspect of this game. After struggling to figure out alliances, I did this one alone, with no allied parties involved on either side, and still can't take anything.

Yikes. Help.

You can also increase warscore by winning battles, but thats only 1 % AFAIK. So yes you must take Azores. Alternatively you can wait for AI to give you their peace offer wich is usually better than they'd accept from you. And forget about Tago for now, you can't take the capital unless it is the only province. Better to vassalise them and diploannex later.
