Really? While i occupy half the country the war just ends and i have to leave
Often these wars end because the minor lord im attacking becomes the vassal of a king as if he could just pledge the fiefs im already occupying

You really have to pay attention to what precipitated the specific conflict you are involved in. If you go to war with someone under the context of a larger conflict, and that conflict ends before you end yours, then basically you're back to status quo ante. Sucks I know.

I hate when this happens during independace wars as you die(your character), really bugs me. I mean why wouldn't my son want to continue my struggle for a free country? Maybe you could get an event where you get to choose to continue the fight or give in to your opressor :p

You shouldn't be able to become a vassal while you are at war.
Is it possible that the target was in a ducal claim war and submited to the king due to the terrible war situation?

Nobody agrees with me?

This was the way of the times you are thinking in too much of a MODERN sense where you keep what you kill. In those days HONOR played an important role in those decisions. So, once inconclusive has hit you have to pull all your forces back and pay your 100 prestige and start over again......isn't that FUNNNNNN? ;)
