If you agreements expire, you are exposed. That is why you tend to get ganged and I dont. I got ganged earlier because I didnt feel right beating on France when I had the opportunity. He was a little weak looking and beleagured. So I let him be and he came back to gang me with Russia. Stupid mistake on my part.

Just Too Uber said:Not really. Part of diplomacy is realizing when you have no leverage, 'cause the other guy has no responsibility to play nice with you at that point.
You know, even though its blatantly obvious what your next course of action is, its not very good to reveal your entire plans through such a threat. Better to make it obscureBumble Bee said:Oh you will get ganged, you can count on it, your allies will leave you out to dry and after this session it is you who will be having terms dictated to them like you were doing to me.

Russia fought on after the defeat of Brandenburg, so that should be considered a seperate war, just as England-France is a seperate war from Brand/Aus - France.
King John said:You fought France and Russia at the same time earlier as well. We were kinda like an alliance, the only difference being that Dago signed a seperate peace with you. I gave you credit for fighting both of us though.

You're basing this on the fact that LE or you didn't sign a seperate peace, but why should that make a difference? Because it's awkward to give points when someone has signed peace at an earlier time. When two countries go to war together and peace at the same time, it's easy to look at them as a single unit, but that doesn't mean individually that they were any less trouble for the country fighting them.
I know we used to count alliances as one war, but since we got rid of alliances I realized it's much fairer if we count every single war seperately, every single country vs country conflict as a seperate MT score. That's the way I've approached it since we started this game.
