Hello,

As soon as I complete the synthetics ascension, there is a Fanatic Spiritualist FE that is constantly declaring war on me. The same for another FE Fanatic Xenophobic. problem is that I can't set any war goal . I have claimed all their systems and planets (and conquered them) but as soon as click the status quo (the goal is not available because I can't set it), the FE reverts back.

And after 10 years, here we go again...

If this is happening in just one game my guess is that it's a bug with a corrupt save file. IF you're not playing ironman maybe run an experiment of releasing and then remaking claims or declaring war on them first or something else to get you out of the buggy-state??

I claimed and conquered all their planets. No conquer war goal.

That's not what "Adolf - Finite War" was talking about. During peacetime, did you go to the claims screen and spend influence to claim their systems? You get to the claims UI by clicking the button that is 3rd from the bottom, in between the species and factions UI buttons.

Sorry for not getting it the first time but the issue seems to be that all his conquests revert back to the fallen empire after the status-quo peace which is the only one he can get and after the cease-fire they are at his throat all over again.

Since the AI seems to be the one declaring war try to ge ahead of it slow down and try to get your war declartion in on the day the cease-fire ends. Maybe that will change something. Also check your claims again maybe you lost them after the first conquest. You should have gotten those worlds for keeps.

In peace time I claimed all their systems.
Then they declare war but I have no options to select (BTW, same thing if I declare war).
After I conquer all systems AND planets, I have two options:
- status quo
- war goal
No matter what I choose, they say "ok" and they are back in business.

It happened twice (two different games).

Thanks. Sometimes we have to do an idiocy check. (I've occasionally forgotten to actually hit the "Make Claims" button and just dismissed the window instead.)

As for your problem, I've got no clue. In my last game I was attacked by an FE. I was able to claim all of its worlds in the usual way.

What does the war screen tell you about the results of a Status Quo peace? Does it say that you'll get the worlds? Are they counting for occupation score?

I think I found the problem. When I conquer planets, they still remain to the FE. See screenshot below, I have fully occupied all planets but they still are listed as the FE systems.

This is what the option "Status quo" says:

But when I offer / accept it the FE get back as it was before the war.

It's this. I've had the same problem before.
You can't take any planets because the FE has used their special "punitive expedition" war goal which you do not have access to, this is preventing you from actually selecting "conquest" war goals when you are declared on.

Solution is as Adolf describes, you gotta get your war Dec in there first.
It's a real pain in the ass, especially as I'm almost certain that in older versions of the game i was able to provoke FEs into attacking like that, but was able to actually take their planets in the resulting wars.

It does not work for me. I have waited until the truce expired and here below is what I get when I declare war.

At this point, I think it is a bug.

Bomb them into oblivion hope someone else takes their stuff.
Surrender and go frome there.

Your game is a really good example to even if you don't plan on using a world cracker at least let slot #8 open for the perk.
