A TP has a 2% value, when you want it in a peace-treaty. But occupying a province only gives you half of that percentage extra. So you were right with that 1%.
You'd be better off burning it down and planting your own settler, unless you desperately need war% to get some valuable province, or you're getting too few settlers.
Perhaps it was a colony and not a TP, which would explain why I didn't burn it down.
OTOH do you loose BB if you seceed your TPs or even if they get burned? dont think so, but hey, who knows. but what i suspect is that you lose BB for handing over TPs/colonies to spain/portugal due to the ToT. nice tactic somes in mind, but still needs to be proofed
Tordesillas is not affected/does not affect BB in any way I've seen. But then, I don't play Castile that often and there aren't many other Catholics in Indonesia.
and then there is (was) this spainish bug for gaining BB for annexing pagan provinces.........not all things work like they were intended to do, and some even have exceptions
