I did a reload from some weeks before, but same result. Very annoying to have them on the ropes and be robbed like that. I hope it isnt the ruler dying because it wasnt a personal reason, it was a holy war to spread the faith amongst the pagans

Cant' tell from this brief description why it ends, we need a save for that. File a bug report and attach a save please.

Please note that inconclusive wars often happen if you declare war against someone who is rebelling against their liege. In that case, if they sign a peace treaty with their former liege and become vassals again, other wars become inconclusive.

This is currently not shown clearly and we need to add this so it's obvious before declaring war.

Strange thing about this is when if you want to become duke from count by usurping or creating a duke title. You can't become a duke if your liege is a duke, but the only thing you have to do is declare war on your liege for independence, then create the duchy. The war will be over because it's 'inconclusive'. Probably because he won't be able to revassalize you anyway.

Nice catch. That is indeed the cause. I'll add it to our internal bug forum.
