Making an advanced metro tunnel system is a pain in the ass when the current standard two-line rail only makes a jam in crosses when the crossing metro from A to B in Y-crosses is blocking the way for metros from C to A. Neither does separate tunnels for each direction helps because the rails still are two-ways, making one only able to use the two-way capacity in the metro stations. A solution is to be able to make underground rails like one makes train rails and roads, with one-lane one-ways, and two-lane one-ways.
