OK, I've noticed a small mistake here... In the game the vlachs belong to the south slavic culture group. It's incorrect because they are descending from the romanized population in the present-day territory of Romania and Moldova.
So they should belong to the latin culture group.
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlachs

Also, the Dniester splits the Moldova region in two and it shouldn't...

Correcting this small error will improve historic & geographic accuracy

The map of Wallachia, Transylvania and Moldavia is so horrible that i don't even think that moving the river is enough.

If they start working on fixing it, i would prefer if they looked at the size and position of province, mountains, rivers, basically everything.
A lot of the maps need reworking, honestly.

I'd like to see asource for that because from what was said earlier in the threat it seeme vlach was a slavic term, slavic and greek aren't related languages.

Also you're missing a point, vlach may never have had a close relations with italian, but if wallachia where to have grown to greater proportions (whioch could easily happen in game) then that link may well have bene restablished, placing them in slavic means they're forever doomed to hang out with the slavs and see the italians as totally culturally diffrent, even if the ERE ends up vlach.

I have done only a little research in this matter and from what I've read, the population that you are talking about really were an insular people conserving their heritage and customs seeing all others as outsiders. There were some who migrated through the Balkans, eventually making their way to Istra region but by that time those migrants were seen as separate from the Daco-Romanians.

The culture ingame shows it status quo. And in status quo there is no connection to the Frenchmen and Italians. What-if scenarios not really belong here.

And I really see no reason why they should reestablish the link and change their culture. As I said... it did happen in the 17th and 18th century. But in the middle ages? I'm not really sure if they would change enough to make them closer to Italians. But noone can answer this what if question I think ;)

Oh and because of language also a very interesting link to wikipedia:

I agree with you, but I doubt they will do that since probably they got other concerns, let's just hope if they agree to move the river for now...

True enough and that's pert of the problem. Becuase once we start spreading around cultures that really were only meant to repreent something as it was at the initial state things get wierd. In time they should really have another wya to handle culture. For an example instead of culture groups they could have each culture have a set of cultural relations of diffrent magnitudes (that could change over time).

Okay, enough of the culture par for now, let's focus on the map part.
Moving the river upwards between Olvia and Belgorod would cut Peresechen in half, so by doing so I propose merging the other half of Peresechen with Olvia. It will look like this:

This is a total necro post, but I'm a Goral from Poland which is constituted almost entirely of migrating Vlachs, and the idea that I'd have more in common with an Italian just sounds stupid.

Also their are no descendants of actual ethnic Romans from Rome in Romania. The Romans retreated from Dacia fully due to pressures from the north. By then Roman was just a term of someone who was part of the empire. Some of the Roman emperors were of Armenian extraction. They were not actually "Roman" from an ethnic standpoint.

Also if you bring up Dacia then it's already established that they were linguistically a Satem group closer to Scythian and Balto-Slavic.

If you bring up DNA the Vlachs are very diverse and healthy. They cluster closer to Greeks than to Italians though.
