Here I will list of problems/stupid design decisions that should be changed to improve the quality of life and sanity while playing as Communist China. After 20-30 hours playing as Mao in Iron Man I have found some minor and some extremely annoying things.

1. Infiltration in its current form is completely useless

500 inf equipment is a (small) infantry division that you desperately need when you are fighting Japan. In the beginning you need all the equipment you can get a hand on to create armies. Only a fool would use this when you are at war with Japan.

You could do it after you have signed a peace with Japan. Then another problem comes up: It is so slow!
Why on earth can you only infiltrate one province at a time? If you have the equipment and the PP needed, you should be able to mass infiltrate. This will reduce the ridiculous amount of time needed to infiltrate any considerable area.

2. If you leave United Front, Japan will not sign a peace deal with you

This destroyed my last iron man game. I had been up for a day, and my mind was clouded. I wanted "Socialist market economy" The focus "Marxism with Chinese characteristics" makes you leave the United front and create your own faction. I could not rejoin united front because they hated my guts for not joining the war for the better part of a year. I was still in the war together with NatChina. After we pushed out Japan, a peace deal was signed between all United Front members and Japan, but not me.

Is this WAD? If it is, then it is stupid. Nothing much more to say. Make Japan sign with all Chinese states regardless of faction or if they are even at war with them or something. Anything to remove it, because I am 100% sure I got cancer and AIDS when I realized I was not finished with the bloody Japs. What had happened if I went with a faction like Comintern and pounced Japan when they were busy with Nat China? Still perpetual war? Comintern faction brings me to my last gripe.

3. Chiang's Nationalist China can join Comintern

This destroyed my Iron Man game before that. I was in the Comintern and enjoyed the peace and built up my forces while my future enemies bled themselves dry. I striked on Japan, cut half of their forces off in China and destroyed from the North while Nat China came from the South. I got bogged down in Manchuria, then the worst message came. NatChina joined Comintern. This meant that when I was done with Japan, I most likely had to leave Comintern and attack NatChina while Soviets destroyed me from the rear.

Chiang Kai-Shek would rather have shot himself in the mouth before joining the comintern. Please for the love of God make NatChina unable to join the Comintern as long as Kai-Shek is the leader. It is so bizarre and far-fetched. I was in fact utterly disgusted.

1. Cannot comment (haven't played CPC), but I suspect you're right
2. That has to be a bug, right?!
3. AGREED. Chiang would NEVER have joined the Comintern - it's about as unlikely as the U.S. joining.

I might add.
4. The Xi'an Incident rarely/never fires with historical AI
5. The Nationalists cannot fight the CPC and form the Chinese United Front (they should form the front after a white peace with the CPC following the Xi'an Incident)
6. AI China still looses WAY to quickly to AI Japan (this war should drag out for most of the game) - I suggest a focus giving China a Nat'l Spirit that provides defense on core territory
7. The "cold war" between CPC and the Nationalists is next to nonexistent during the war with Japan. There should be a high-level split in both the CPC and NC focus trees with one branch emphasizing the cold war and the other branch the war with Japan. These should not be mutually exclusive! The choice is when to pick the focus. For example, Xi'an should force China to send equipment to CPC (or give them factories), which can then be cancelled using NC focuses if the player choses to emphasize the “Cold War” with CPC over the fight with Japan.

I think you're wrong on infiltration, later on 500 inf equipment is quite cheap, a few days production, and you'll likely have obsolete equipment lying around.

I think the biggest problem is that the game still does a poor job of showing how it devolved into a three way fight. It needs to be a much longer meat grinder of a war, with Japan struggling to reach inland, but China struggling to dislodge them. As Japan it should make sense not to focus on finishing off China and instead attack Indonesia hawaii etc.

I think that one of the aspects that is most unpolished in WtT is the CHina vs China mechanics, take for example Manchukuo, it has no Infiltration, No Power Struggle, No Powerful National Spirits, Nothing. So, after Japan is beaten , they are handicapped against CHina

When you can produce 500 inf equipment in a few days, you can blitz NatChi in a few days... Your army will be twice as big as theirs at that point. That was my point. When you can first use it, there is no point because it would be so much faster just to crush Nationalist China like a bug instead of waiting 30 days to sends ten guys with some sticks of TNT and so they can destroy a couple of factories. The price for those ten guys with two sticks of dynamite: 10PP and 500 equipment.

Edit: I wrote "point" alot
