Hello!

I'm rather new to Darkest Hour, and I'm playing my third game of DH (my second as the USSR).

Both times I've played as the USSR, I've been really excited to try out DH's new combat system and mobilization model to re-fight Barbarossa and "do things right this time", avoiding the historical mistakes the Soviets made. So here I sit, hundreds of divisions deployed in depth by the summer of 1941 aaaand...

...nothing. No Barbarossa. I know that in AoD and HoI2:DD Barbarossa would go dormant if the Soviets reached a certain ratio of forces vis a vis Germany. I currently only have about a 300 division army, it's the summer of 1942, but Germany still does nothing. This is the second play through where this has happened (first time got to '45 and no invasion), and I'm really quite puzzled.

Which brings me to my second question; I originally was just searching events.txt to find the event number for Barbarossa and trigger it, but then I realized that Barbarossa is a decision in DH. That being the case, how do I (can I?) trigger decisions for another country?

I know it would be a simple matter to declare war on Germany, but I want to be attacked, dammit!

Thanks in advance for your help and I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum!

If you do that, give the ai time. It is not ready for barbarosa and most likely not set up for it. If you trigger it and then attack, you might as well just go ahead and do the dow yourself.
