Wait, why was that so much fun!?

So I had to do the Steiner assassination mission, and at first I thought I was screwed. Three heavy and assault lances versus a team of four 50 ton or less mechs. I had a Hatchetman kitted out for max melee damage, my frankencrab, a Cicada and a firestarter.

The resulting match was what I could only describe as an episode of loony toons. Four tiny little mechs running and jumping as fast as they can around the huge mechs, finding the Victor assault mech and shooting it in the rear arc over and over again until it died.

Now it wasn't perfect, I had to eject my pilot from the cicada, and the firestarter got smoked (pilot survived!) but it was a success!

I thought the mission was going to be hot garbage, but I found it to be -really- fun since I could outrun the other mechs so well that getting out of weapons range wasn't too difficult. The underdog feel was -really- fun!

Can...we have more of these missions?

Haha, yes, this was one funny mission!

I dropped with a melee hatchetman, two centurion 9a and a hunchback 4p. Having this totally outgunned lance wipe three enemy lances off the map was really a challenge. And it was not really what I intended to do, I just wanted to assassinate the target and get the hell out of there. But the enemies just kept coming, the map offered perfect opportunities to backstab them - so I kept killing them.
Took some heavy hits, lost both STs on the Hatchetman and a leg and ST on the hunchback, but being outnumbered 3:1 (or outclassed 4-5:1) - I think this is a win as clear as it can get.
