Some strange Tech issues in the UK 1941 start.

In 1939 start they have four techs which they apparently forget about in 1941. Maybe they should start writing things down so they don't forget them.

Air Doctrines
Escort Box Doctrine
Combat Bombardment Group

Aircraft
Basic Escort Fighter

Industry
Advanced Refining

I assume some changes were made for balancing but not sure whether the 1939 or 1941 starting techs are correct.

Other wierdness in the 1941 file. UK start with Basic Tank Destroyers but not Early  Therefore they have to research early before they can go forward. Oversite perhaps?

More Weirdness

I haven't gotten any response. Maybe no one knows the answer.

Anyway I have been doing a comparison of the following majors

USA
USSR
Germany
Italy
Japan
UK
France

I am looking at changes to the tech tree and have found discrepancies hich must have slipped through the betas.

USA has none.
Germany has none.
UK's are noted above.
USSR has only one they have Improved interceptors in 1939 and 1944 but not in 1941. Someone needs to write stuff down. :)

France
Rear Area Dumps in 1936, 1941, 1944 but not in 1939
Basic CAS in 1939, 1944 but not in 1941.
Improved Interceptors in 1939, 1944 but not in 1941.
Basic and Improved Naval bombers in 1939 but not 1941 or 1944.
Basic Escort in 1939, 1944 but not in 1941.
Agrichemistry in 1939, 1944 but not in 1941.
Advanced Refining in 1939 but not in 1941 or 1944.
Nuclear Research in 1941 but not 1944.

I will post Italy and Japan later.

Italian Discrepencies

Italy
Early Mountain in 1936, 1941 but not 1939
Strategic Destruction 1939 but not 1941
Early Artillery 1939 but not 1941
Basic Armored Car 1936, 1939 but not 1941
Improved Armored Car 1939 but not 1941
Basic CAS 1939 but not 1941
Production Control 1939 but not 1941
Mechanized Agriculture 1936, 1939 but not 1941

Japan
Advanced Infantry 1941 but not 1944
Improved Marine 1939, 1944 bot not 1941
Improved Mountain 1941 but not 1944
Basic Escort 1939, 1944 but not 1941
Research Labs 1941 but not 1944
Nuclear Research 1941 but not 1944

I was just wondering if one of the MODS could comment on whether this has been noted and will be fixed in 1.2 or not.

I realize it is not a bug deal but I came across it while working out whether each nation can research what they are given in certain scenarios.

So far I have done Germany, USA, and most of USSR and the results are not to good. Most countries can do 1936 to 1939 in terms of tech. 1939 to 1941 is not possible. 1941 to 1944 is not even close. Germany would take till mid to late 1946 and the USA till late 1947. These are the best tech teams in the game so i shudder to see what the other countries will do.

I am thinking of revamping the tech system because it is my belief that you should be able to start in 1936 and achieve the 1939 OOB or 1941 and achieve the 1944 OOB.

Of course whether the OOB is correct is another matter but they should be achievable is my point. The biggest problems seem to be the Air Doctrines, Assembly Techs, Brigades. They take waaaaaaaaayyyy to long to research. I am leaning toward making the first expensive and the upgrades cheaper.

It seems to me that knowing how to build an anti tank gun is far harder than making a better one. This may also help as USSR, GER, and USA were pretty well in line 1936 to 1939 but from thereon it got worse and worse.

Anyone want to comment on OOB's or other tech related insights please feel free.

U are dead on on this one!
My fix would be to enable blueprints for parts of projects. Researching planes u have to research the same MG/cannon for all fighters/ESC/Interceptors. But your stupid scientists have to research each one again. Or Tank guns/AT guns several times. Or engines and much more. This would cut down research time.

Also US 44 has a lot of naval doctrine techs which really should not be unlocked since they took a different path. If u play from 36 it will not only be difficult but IMPOSSIBLE to research those (unless unlocked by events?)

USA Navy Doctrines

It only looks that way. The US Naval Doctrines are correct if you study it carefully you will see that a lot of naval doctrines are found in all three branches. They just appear at later times. I was confused early on.

I am not a mod only beta, but i will compare with latest beta patch and if such differences are still there i will put a report on Mantis.
