Sunlight in Small Map

This is not important for game play, but it is an error in basic science.

When I start the game in January, the sun on the small map is good, having a / \ shape. But as the seasons change, the shape of the sun lit area does not change, it only moves up the small map. This is totally inaccurate. During September and March the sun light area should have a rectangular shape like this | | , and during June it should be shaped like a U but with all of the area above the artic circle always in sun.

To review why. The earth is a sphere with one half lit by the sun at any one time. During December the north pole of the earth is angled away from the sun so less light fall on the northern hemisphere with more falling on the southern hemisphere. During June the situation is reversed with the North Pole pointing toward the sun and and the nothern hemisphere receiving more sunlight.

I am sorry if this has already been posted. I looke around, but I admit I am not the best at using forums like this.

I know that they just could nto find a nice forumla to move the lgith up and down. The best I can think of is two (discontinuous)arctan functions which makes just more hassle than it is worth to do. At the moment this is WAD.

I agree that finding an accurate formula for the small map may be hard. But I don't know why they chose the method that is used. Simple vertical lines would be more accurate 9 moths out of the year, but I guess that it would not be as impressive when you first start the game in January
