I would recommend that perhaps you look at Brocks excellent suggestion and see if that is an accepted enhancement/change?

IMHumbleO, :) , I'd say that a bug doesnt necessarily relate to code, if the code works but the logic behind it doesnt, then I would class it as a bug in design! But, you guys are the ones responsible for the game so, I'll go with flow.

But he will have to eventually if he wants to kill france. By that time it wont matter cus poland will be dead and they will already be at war.

add a -2 dissent for Germany if it enters any unit anywhere in the Rhineland in 1936 (in addition to the WE change of course), give a +5 dissent hit every year when not entering. (triggers every 1st of January at 00.00 hours from 1937 onwards)
Give an option to the event in March 1936 like, "we will deal with this later, Germany is not strong enough yet"

Well, but that is the point - obeying a requirement of the treaty of Versailles would quite fairly make UK/France less suspicious.

And to attack france, germany would need to break the treaty anyway.

hmm, we could give the Rhineland provinces to france and transfer them to Germany with the occupation of the Rhineland event. too harsh? unrealistic?

Transferring ownership would be a bit over the top I think and it's trivial to code an event that fires when Germany places troops in the Rhineland. I think the general outline would be:

- Rhineland history: Triggers at the start of the game. Event provides some general background on the situation. No effects.

- Rhineland gambit: Start date 1/1/1936, end date 30/12/1936. Triggers if German garrison in Rhineland is 1 division or more. Links in with existing event chains for Allied reaction etc.

- Demilitarised Rhineland: Triggers 1/1/1937 if the Rhineland Gambit has not fired. Some Allied WE reduction but Germany gets some dissent and loss of DI.

Basically this gives the player a choice between remilitarisation at a time of their choice in 1936 but with all it's associated risks or to stay out of the area for better diplo relations but loss of face and internal stability.

The German AI would perhaps also need some modification to ensure it places troops in the Rhineland ;)
