VV Crash at startup

Hello

I just downloaded VV and have been unable to successfully apply it to a boxed version of EU: Rome. I have used a fresh install from CD followed by install of VV from Impulse. Rome crashes after launch at Initialising Maplogic dumping to "File exception:
Exception in: .\discfile.cpp, line: 425 Description: Could not open file" and then a runtime error.

Trying to verify installation shows that Europa Universalis -Rome Vae Victis is not installed correctly. Please look for application update. Applying said update and a reboot leads to same crash.

Stardock support was unable to offer any assistance and referred me back here.

Enclosed DxDiag along with all files from EU: R VV logs folder with data.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have to admit I can't see any problem in there. What if you uninstall and just install Rome only and run that, is it OK? If so that really suggests the problem is in your VV download from Impulse. Maybe delete it and download a fresh copy from them and install it again.

One thing you might check is that when you install VV again, that you point it to the same directory that Rome is in, not its own directory? If it does not install over Rome that can cause the problem you describe.

No trouble running vanilla rome since it was released including a clean install just now that works fine. I've tried many different times now and each time the download from Impulse won't start if right directory isn't chosen. The VV 2.1 readme appears in eu rome folder.

And you still get that same exact error, even after downloading a fresh copy from Impulse? To be honest I'm not sure what more to say then, if so, aside from contacting them again - it really does look like their problem.

I was never able to get VV to install over retail EU: R. However, stardock sales support exchanged VV for the EU: R Gold during last weekend's Impulse sale.
Very nice!. Installed both programs through Impulse without any problems.
