If You don't see a mention of their birthdate on characters logs, and thus a starting clean slate: that is normal - their origins are unknown (for autogenerated characters, that's quite convenient). You are free to add titles or jobs, so to fill their histories. If that doesn't happen, please report again.
If by "blank entries" You mean entries with a date, but without a label ... that is being fixed.

The latter, naturally. There are sometimes a dozen or so blank entries between two valid ones. I have a sneaking suspicion that it has something to do with a character switching employers.
It happens on characters' resigns. It's but a cosmetic issue. Along with some punctuation oddness, with recorded events.
