I have sufferage yes, but my ruling party has "residence" as its issue in citizenship... Yet my colonial subjects still vote! Why?

The party in power is for residence, but the overall government allows anyone to vote. (Just because a particular party favor one issue or another does not mean that issue actually changes your government). Full suffrage allows everyone to vote. (Note that voters only get to choose from the current parties, kind of like modern age, eh?)

No, wrong. Basically, a political party's issue means that they are passing laws behind the scenes on their issue. Or they are trying. Like the US Democrats want more social reforms (run by them and their friends) while Republicans in the past 25 years have pushed military spending. Not that either party, if in power, has 100% control to do so. Just because a party has an issue does NOT change the whole scope of the government.

Full Suffrage is supposed to allow everyone to vote (not yet woman's suffrage which is later).

If Paradox was supposed to make these party issues change things I think that would be undesirable.

sorry Wolf Hawken, parties in power can do quite alot, especially outside of the US system. Universal sufferage is different than full citizenship, that's what I was getting at. You're supposed to be able to have universal sufferage but not have full citizenship. There are just so many instances in history. Take the Ameriican South post reconstruciton, if you want an American example. Anyhow, I currently find it intollerable that colonial subjects get to vote... Voting colonial members to a parliament was very rare during this time period. And it screws up game play. It makes it so that if a Socialist Belgium (for example) were to annex, say, Korea, the conservative party would be in charge! A Xenophobic colonial nation is not gonna let its foreign subjects that it just conquered run its nation, even though it may let every member of Belgian nationality vote and be very leftwing. Leftwingers can always believe in the superiority of the home culture. Look at modern France, for example. Multiculturalism is only one approach, and assimilation has been argued by some to be just as good if not more so in the creation of liberty and democracy.

But anyway, DarkRenown, does anyone have any idea when this feature might be implimented?

This voting problem is annoying. I am playing as France, have taken over parts of China and Korea, and so I have to put up with conservative voters from those countries influencing my elections.

I certainly don't. Nothing much about what's planned for 1.04 is known, before 1.03 came out I amassed quite a large post with all the planned fixes, but no one talks about 1.04 :(

Where is the HoI2 showing mentioned? I saw it quoted in the HoI2 faq, but I can't find the actual thread.
