This is from my hands - off Observer Mode game. When I noticed that I could't believe it and switched to Wallachia.

Unfortunately this glorious Wallachia was ultimately annihilated by...

AI Catholic Serbian Empire... and AI Sunni Byzantine Empire... Yeah this game was fascinating to observe

Vlad isn't such an uncommon name - whom we know as Dracula today was Vlad III, so the heir you're seeing there would have probably become Vlad IV, assuming there weren't any Vlads ruling Wallachia after Tepes (who lived from 1431 to 1476).

There is an event about Vlad ported from Europa Universalis II, there is also an event about Tuscany.
All the events from the previous games are ported in the actual one.
