I think the armor is not the "problem". It's rather excellent for a medium. Except for the 2D. The weaponry seems to bother most of the people. However, I can't see why atm. Personally, I never rued picking the SDH in the beta. The Shadow Hawk isn't useless. It's just dramatically under armored.
I think it is the fact that it has just one of each weapon type, and it is the smallest one (or at least not the biggest): One AC/5, one medium laser, one LRM-5, one SRM-2. Every weapon system it has lacks punch, and as a result the 'Mech itself lacks punch - unless it's actually punching in this game, where it has a melee bonusI think the armor is not the "problem". It seemingly doesn't have a lot of punch, true. Surprisingly, for a bunch of reasons, I've found it to be a cornerstone mech in my PvP battle. However, that might change with the full roster. We'll have to see.I think it is the fact that it has just one of each weapon type, and it is the smallest one (or at least not the biggest): One AC/5, one medium laser, one LRM-5, one SRM-2. Yeah, I found it surprisingly useful in the skirmish beta; I was much more disappointed with one of my old TT favourites, the Griffin, although that might just be me playing it wrong. I guess a lot of us are going to have to re-learn how to play certain 'Mechs to maximise their potentialIt seemingly doesn't have a lot of punch, true. Funny, it was the same with me. The Griffin, an all-time favorite of mine, underperformed greatly in the beta. Overall it was to costly and did not enough. ... in the end, when I had the choice between the Griffin and the Shadow Hawk, I chose the latter.Yeah, I found it surprisingly useful in the skirmish beta; I was much more disappointed with one of my old TT favourites, the Griffin, although that might just be me playing it wrong. I am really curious as well ... gonna be fun. That's going to be a LOT of the fun of this, learning all the mechs strengths and weaknesses, plus with all the new chassis that we're going to get to play with that the beta didn't give us. Then of course there is the fact that the beta numbers will have become their final forms, so things are going to be tweaked a little more than what we got used to. Most if not all of the meta builds are going to change, and we're going to have so many new environments to play around in, so it's going to be completely fresh.
Waiting two months is going to kill me I think.
Of course turnabout is fair play... if decidedly less effective. : )

And then shortly after launch, when Amechwarrior mods in a bunch more 'Mechs that weren't in the official launch, and maybe even gets them to show up in the campaignCan't wait for the official launchand our hands on all the mechs!~

Chibi Stalker was an unfinished Stalker model that was unlocked in the beta via modding. It had these distinctive paddle arms and fun animations that made it a favorite.Care to explain the "Chibi Stalker" reference?
