Who thought when you heard Mitch say "Visceral Mech Combat" that the shit is about to Fly. And that Mech Combat is on it's way. YEAH
My response when people say the Shadow Hawk is useless...
It's the quintessential Jack-of-all-Trades-Master-of-None 'Mech; it can do everything okay but nothing great. Which means it is the perfect 'Mech for a mercenary commander just starting out in the 3025 Periphery...My response when people say the Shadow Hawk is useless...
Exactly! There are disadvantages to having a super specialized mech that a mech unit might not want as it limits their usefullness to a specific role and misssion type. It's the quintessential Jack-of-all-Trades-Master-of-None 'Mech; it can do everything okay but nothing great. Of course turnabout is fair play... if decidedly less effective. : )

From what I recall of the applicable Q&A (the Q&A where a HBS Developer mentioned that they looked forward to the challenge that putting Quads into BATTLETECH represented) the then-current "Head Butts" were being adjusted to be more of a "Shoulder Block" by Launch.Sometimes you just have to use your head...
Where is the gif of that mech arm being blown off right into the camera!

Yes, I only meant the stock SHD-2H - with customisation, it can indeed become a specialist instead of a generalist; just removing the AC/5 and ammo gives you 9 tons to play around with (although I'm pretty sure you cannot squeeze in more than a SRM-4 in the head missile hardpoint). The Stock model is, you mean. You can refit that bad boy with at least three SRM6's and do some serious damage. Even the stock model does exceptional melee; they gave it a hefty +15 damage relative to others in its weight class. Shadow Hawk and Dragon both are contenders for middlweight boxing champions. Hunchback and, on the higher end, Awesome currently take the championships with their melee bonus stacked with a support hardpoint, but inflation of support hardpoints may tip those scales, we'll see.

Visceral is right. A careful reading of the damage readout indicates that he destroyed the CT ... twice.
