Virtual PC & DH = Windowed Mode?

An idea just crossed my mind, if I used Virtual PC, would I be able to play DH on it and full screen inside the emulator even though its a window in native?... if that makes any sense.

So yeah, can I run DH in Virtual PC to try and make a 'complex' windowed mode?

EDIT: Almost forgot, since I got Windows 7 Pro, I can get Virtual PC and XP for free, pretty neat.

Hmm, I've got the XP Mode up and running, I'm updating it as I type, but I installed DH to it and the launcher crashes. I tried just booting up the .exe file and the intro movie plays but soon crashes too.

I'll keep poking around but from the looks of it, if I can get DH to work, it IS a way to play windowed!! You can fullscreen in the virtual PC window, while leaving the vitual PC as a window!

Ah I think I see the problem, I've done some digging around and XP Mode with Virtual PC uses an emulated graphics card that barely uses DirectX9 standard. Though in the same thread it suggested I use VMware Player which supports hardware acceleration.

Oh boy I'm scrapping the VMware idea, its causing all kinds of security issues on my computer. I'll just keep trying on the XP Mode virtual PC. If that doesn't work, I wonder if I can get WINE to run... hmm.

EDIT: Seems XP Mode is limited to 16-bit graphics and no 3D graphics, would that stop DH from launching? Should I provide the crash reports?

This is the error I'm getting on using the DH Launcher:
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135).

EDIT: AH need the .NET framework. Downloading.

That's not necessary - there is a check-box on the Launcher that switches to Windowed mode too.

Yeah I know, but I just never use the launcher. It didn't work when I initially installed for some reason.
