Well, I do only have EEP to EU2 and CORE to HoI. And as you may have already checked all my events have a event_text.csv entrie (longer than in game descriptions in some events).

I love Paradox games, but sometimes they make the dumbest mistakes as MODDIR, their games survives more time dur the [n]heavy[/b] modification by the community, they should have it earlier.
:mad:

Let's wait for 1.03 (february, maybe?)

Political parties any one?

I've been following this thread with some anticipation, as I prefer playing SA countries.
Now, Peru only has only one party; Partido Popular.
Have you guys made any mods to enhance Peru (and any/all other SA country that lack their political parties)?
If there is such a mod, please post a link to it, so I can d/l it :)

Admittedly we have not focused much on that aspect of the game yet, but I do have a list of applicable Peruvian political parties ready, they just need a bit of sorting out...in any case, they wouldn't be available until later (ie: 1870s or so), if we want to be historical.

In any case, if you want to download a file with most of those Peruvian political parties, here it is (ignore the .txt):

http://upl.mine.nu/uplfolders/upload4/PEU_party.zip

Sorry, I didn't get that. What have you said? Answers/Results?:confused: I am not asking for publicity, I am asking for playtesters, as you know that I need those. Cause I think that, I ain't the best tester, sometimes you look so hard to something, that you don't see another. And as I know all trigger conditions, is like a playing a "rigged" game.

And as you have helped me in my, tests. I extended to you my time to help you testing, but your last files from December, which I returned my comments.

I hope that I misunterstood your comment. :(

La Guerra Grande (1843-1852) & The War vs Rosas (1851-1852}

I am currently working on some URU events, and having some trouble, mostly cause the events that I am working on isn't about URU only, it must involve FRA, ENG, ARG and later BRZ, so a mess.

Let me explain what I have in mind, and you may help me:
1) I changed the starting party of URU to the blancos representing Oribe.
2) I couldn't verify, but they don't seem to be anarco-liberals to me, just exalted liberals, I may change this in the near future!
3) There is a failed Colorado Revolt led by Rivera. In game terms a rebels unit pops in the capital, if the capital is taken an event leading to a colorado coup d'etat. This attempt failed! Cause ARG had troops helping Oribe. Now the problem: How can I represent this? In this Link, there is a command suggestion that is send expeditionary forces (Generalissimo, if you may get the attention of the DEVs to this thread, would be awesome!), but it doens't exit, yet. So I was thinking in a ARG/URU event that says that a ARG inf was seded, however it will just be a add_division to URU.
4) In 38 Rivera tries again and suceed. In game, Rebels again, however 3 or 4 units, to take the capital. And the same coup d'etat event. Now the problem. Those rebels won't stop after the taking of Montevideo, they will roam around!!!

Now the 2nd and more difficult event, the War vs Rosas:
1) Oribe flees to ARG, in 39 Rivera with the FRA and ENG support declares war on ROSAS, not ARG per se. They block the sea. Ingame it will be represented by a persinted flag event that reduces the stockpile. Now Rivera was sucesful driving the Rosas forces out of URU, those forces mentined earlier!!! Now the FRA makes a pact with Rosas and withdraw. Oribe with the ARG return and lay siege to Montevideo (obviously I will have to grant a fort there). ITA and FRA legionnaries come with Garibaldi. Again an event saying that they are foreign, but granting the infantry.
2) When the siege seemed to end, Urquiza in ARG rebels and march against Oribe, becoming allied with Rivera. Now BRZ intervene with forces, that led by Urquiza, march into ARG and fight against Rosas.

The problem is It can't be called WAR, cause if I pit ARG vs URU, the war would be over in a minute (colonial war doesn't make sense either), and how I would represent the Urquiza forces (they are rebels) ingame. An when I throw BRZ against ARG. The Liberation Army had ARG, URU and BRZ, but was led by Urquiza to try not to represent a foreign invasion!

So my escape would be the REB, but once again they will roam around and can't be directed to Buenos Aires.

In game, it may be like this: Montevideo is URU province, and the others are REB, with REB troops, but here I can't represent the 9 year siege of Montevideo!!!, cause the rebels would roam around.

Urquiza would be harder: Ingame Entre-Rios would became REB, with REB INF that should march into URU, to fight the REB!? Can't be done!!! So it should be an event, however how I would represent the Liberation Army?

Now the other option: Ingame, URU declare WAR, and event with flocks of troops to them, and when they reach Buenos Aires, an Event pops with peace returning the provinces to the Status Quo but this won't represent the Urquiza forces, It will grant a lot of prestige to URU.

So the question, now is HOW will we do it? Ideas?

A few thoughts...

pimparel said:

Then the rebel unit should appear a few provinces away from the capital. Also, the ARG event would have an option_a giving support (just costing some cash and improving relations), triggering the URU event where the add_division would be used.

4) In 38 Rivera tries again and suceed. In game, Rebels again, however 3 or 4 units, to take the capital. And the same coup d'etat event. Now the problem. Those rebels won't stop after the taking of Montevideo, they will roam around!!!

I guess the key here is "balance". There should be several rebel units, but not too many of them, and the coup d'etat event should give URU a couple of divisions, in order to "calm" the rebels.

This is a similar case...ITA and FRA should each have 1 event where the "option_a" triggers an URU event where the "legionnary" troops are created...The blockade "flag" would be the result of a ENG/FRA event (there would be an event for the FRA withdrawal too).

And the "Rosas forces" that are driven out of Uruguay could be an URU division which is made to revolt by an event, and is then defeated by the loyal URU army.

In game, it may be like this: Montevideo is URU province, and the others are REB, with REB troops, but here I can't represent the 9 year siege of Montevideo!!!, cause the rebels would roam around.

Well, as always, there has to be balance. Evidently, the "siege" probably won't be 9 years long (it would be almost impossible to ensure it is), and the REB forces shouldn't be too many (and in any case, they should be defeated in battle by newly created divisions, once their job is done).

Now the other option: Ingame, URU declare WAR, and event with flocks of troops to them, and when they reach Buenos Aires, an Event pops with peace returning the provinces to the Status Quo but this won't represent the Urquiza forces, It will grant a lot of prestige to URU.

Well, then the "Liberation"/"Urquiza forces" would be represented by the gaining of extra URU divisions due to the BRZ/ARG events in which both countries/internal factions decide to give their support (another similar event chain).

Also, the "peace" event should also occur when a certain % of provinces is occupied (not necessarily just Buenos Aires), as an alternative OR option, to better anticipate/control the end result.

There could also be a URU event to return/secede any ARG provinces which may be unhistorically annexed (just in case the player/AI decides to take too much advantage of the situation). It would fire only if certain ARG provinces (using the "OR" condition, to be flexible ) are owned by URU.

Hopefully this gives you some useful ideas...

Sorry Scythe, I think that you didn't express my point.

1) It can't be open war, cause the player or an agressive AI would go a) for URU and ARG, or b) URU and BRZ. And will occur BB and prestige hits, that I don't want to.

Leading me to the REB solution, however the REB are uncontrollable, and the worst is that the ARG rebels (Urquiza) helped URU (colorados) against URU rebels (blancos). How in hell I will do this!!! And those REB (urquiza) allied with URU+BRZ and invaded ARG.

So how in hell I will raise REB in Entre-Rios, ARG, led the to Montevideo, URU, and back to Buenos Aires, ARG? See?

The event structure tree is clear in my head, the problem is the commands. And the REB

This was an alternative, but...

1.URU (blancos with Rosas "help") vs. REBs (colorados)...blancos win (1st time)

2.URU (blancos with Rosas "help") vs. REBs (colorados)...REBs win (2nd time) > Coup.

3.URU (now representing colorados) then gets troops (help from Urquiza), taking care of the REBs (which would now represent the blancos) in URU territory.

4.Then it all ends with URU (colorados now with BRZ/Urquiza help) DOWing and fighting ARG (Rosas), in ARG territory.

It is now irrelevant as we have already talked about this with more detail...

Scythe,

Ran some tests:

1) Rebel Events is a CAN'T do, so that crazy idea won't happen.
2) Popped a INF in Montevideo, against 20% (later 50%) INF dug in, to simulate an unsuccessful coup d'état, and to my surprise, there were successfull in 3 out 3.
3) Toned down, popped a IRR in, 2/3 now.

Conclusion: Early Rebel Coup won't happen.
Solution: Text event only :( .

And what happens if you make:
Urquiza -> ARG
Rosas -> REB
:confused:
Afterall, Urquiza was the winner and the first President of the "Confederación"... :D

Never crossed my mind.

MAJOR breakthrough.

The trigger:

Trigger = {
garrison = { country = REB province = 2651 size = 1 }
NOT = { garrison = { country = URU province = 2651 size = 1 }
}

Representing that the Rebels, succefully kicked Uruguayan butt:rofl: out of Montevideo. The only problem is to make an AI, which has capital garrison priority set, which I already had done, earlier. And the start and deathdates should be very tight.

My biggest problem, was that a REB unit, sometimes took 2/3 years to control a province, so I couldn't make a Coup d'État with the trigger control = { country = REB data = 2651 }, and was unrealistic, cause Coup's are fast.

Comments? Possible problems

Great, hopefully this (combined with Generalisimo's advice above) solves most of the problems.... :D

This could be a possible problem, if for example the REBs miss the deathdate (and "garrison" the city a few days/months too late/etc.). In other words, yes, the dates should be limited, but within a reasonable timespan (which can only be found by testing the event).

Tight I mean 2 or 3 years.
