There will be an event for abolition of serfdom in Hotfix 2 if Rus wins the Crimean War or does not fight the war so that RUS does have the opportunity to deal with the issue.
Good to know. If I have time I may try and put together something.

Hm... What about adding some events regarding Polish writers and artists and their impact on the Poles' national consciousness. The romantic ideals and the concepts propagated in romantic writings have been a great inspiration for the young people who began the November and January Uprisings, and I think they should be included, even as flavour events. Here are some of my ideas:

1) Nie-boska komedia by Zygmunt Krasiński (First published in 1835 in Paris) -> The title can be translated as Non-Divine Comedy and is a romantic drama telling the story of a great popular revolution against the nobles and clergy, led by a demonic demagouge Pankracy. Krasiński was a conservative and opposed the liberal ideas, but his drama criticisem both the rebels and the aristocrats - the former ones are described as mindless brutals, obsessed with revenge and bloodlust, while the latter are accused of being unjust, egoistic responsible for the suffering of the poor. The story ends in a specific way - the remaining aristocrats are slayed by the rebels, but Pankracy suddenly dies after witnessing a vision of Jesus Christ. His last words are "Galilaee, vicisti!" ("The Galilean, you have won!").

2) Cyprian Kamil Norwid and his works -> Norwid is considered one of the greatest writers of the Polish romantic period, along with Mickiewicz, Słowacki and Krasiński. Published mostly on immigration in France and USA, Norwid's works included such topics as honouring a great leader (Bema pamięci żałobny rapsod, written in 1851, a year after general Józef Bem's death), analysing the art and aestethics (Promethidion, written in 1851), or simply describing the poet's last meetings with his dying firends - Mickiewicz, Słowacki, Chopin, Witwicki and Delaroche. His works had been forgotten shortly after his death in 1883, but he was rediscovered during the early years of the XX century and considered masterpieces until today.

3) Fryderyk Chopin and his music -> The greatest composer of the Polish romantic period, Chopin's works are acclaimed masterpieces of romantic music and are well known throughout the world.

My idea is that those events should rise consciousness of the higher classes of the Polish population (Mostly for aristocrats and officers, but a small rise for soldiers would also do the job). In the case of Krasiński and his Nie-boska komedia an additional boost for reactionary and conservative population could also be included.

There would appear to be some broken event commands in the January Uprising. The rebel_spawn_rate command is setup to be used by ideology, at least according the the event_command file; but the command in the January Uprising event is setup to affect pops according to nationality. In the pop up text when you mouse over the Arrgh! button ( :) ) you see "Rebel spawn rate for (null) POP's changed by", and then some percentage.

I can see what was intended; but it doesn't appear to be working. I would be glad to fix it, if I could think of a workable alternative. :(

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the Russian event for the end of the Crimean war (event 251077) that is supposed to surrender Mariehamn to Sweden (province 377) cedes province 277 instead. I'm assuming it's a typo.

I remember somebody mentioning this. I believe it was in the Bugs thread though.

Ok, i humbly understand that all the modifications and mods are aimed to "slow" down Russias overpowering :rolleyes: and all these VIP events is just for "baaalance" of Russia gameplay. :mad: :) And actually i agree, the gameplay for Russia, especially for human player, is relatively easy. But! i still did want to give a historical flavour for good events which really happend in my country :) and the following are exactly good ones. And they are just missing. Witte and Stolypin are the one of the most valued and successfull russian reformators of all times.

Please take a note of them. I did try to not overpower their results. And of course these are build on those flags in alex2 reforms, so Russia have to loose :mad: Crimea.

there is one DESC for three of one kind events, and also BMP for flavouring picture :eek:o :cool:

He was appointed Russian Finance Minister in 1892, a position he held until 1903. During his tenure as Finance Minister the nation saw unprecedented economic growth. Witte strongly encouraged foreign capital to invest in Russia, and to do so he put Russia on the gold standard in 1897. Witte encouraged the growth of Russian industry, as a result the industrial sector of the economy expanded rapidly, especially the metals, petroleum, and transportation sectors. To improve the economy and to attract foreign investors Witte also advocated curbing the powers of the Russian autocracy. Witte was transferred to the relatively powerless position of Chairman of the Committee of Ministers in 1903, a position he held until 1905. In an attempt to keep up the modernization of the Russian economy Witte called and oversaw the Special Conference on the Needs of the Rural Industry. This conference was to provide recommendations for future reforms and the data to justify those reforms. Despite these efforts the lot of the peasants slowly declined and unrest increased in the peasant population."

name = "Stolypin Reforms"
desc = "Stolypin agrarian reforms are the agrarian reforms to Imperial Russia's agricultural sector instituted during the tenure of Pyotr Stolypin as Chairman of the Council of Ministers (Prime Minister). Most if not all of these reforms were based on recommendations from "The Needs of Agricultural Industry Special Conference" which was held in Russia between 1901-1903 during the tenure of Sergei Witte. The goal of the reform was to transform the archaic obshchina form of Russian agriculture which the peasants that were liberated by the emancipation reform of 1861 in Russia remained trapped within. Among the many faults of the obshchina included collective ownership, scattered land allotments based on family size and a stifling level of control by the family elder. Stolypin, being a staunch conservative, also sought to eliminate the commune system known as the mir and to stifle the liberal atmosphere among the peasants, preventing further revolution such as that during the Revolution of 1905. The idea was that by tying the peasants to their own private land holdings they would develop into more conservative farmers like those of western Europe. The reforms began with and introduced the unconditional right of individual landownership (Ukase of November 9, 1906). Essentially the reforms sought to abolish the obshchina system and replace it with a more progressive, capitalist oriented form highlighting private ownership and consolidated modern farmsteads. The Stolypin agrarian reforms were implemented by the state in an exhausting campaign from 1906 through 1914. This system was not a command economy like that found in the Soviet Union in the 1920s but a continuation of the State Capitalism program begun under Sergei Witte but so far essentially unapplied to the agricultural sector. It was different from Witte's reforms not by the rapid push which was a method also found in the Witte Reforms but by the fact that Stolypin's reforms were to the Agricultural sector, included improvements to the rights of individuals on a broad level and had the backing of the Police. These reforms laid the groundwork for a free capitalist enterprise system in Russian agriculture for the common people."

Oh I agree, we just have not had any opportunity to script events, and no one with background in Russian history and ability to script events has come forward, but please if you are willing to develop a group of events for some of the major internal political events in Russia, please go ahead. As I've said elsewhere, there are only a couple of dedicated event scripters currently involved in the project, so people who have ideas AND can script them into gameplay content are always welcom to create events. IIRC we don't have anything for the Narodniks, the major internal reforms of the Alexander II era, and very little on Russia's cultural explosion in the 19th C (literature, arts).

Rather than post them here, best thing would be to create them, bundle them in a zip/rar and then PM me so I can arrange to have you email them to me.

The Krakow Uprising

I think the events for this occasion should be re-vamped
i was think somewhere along the line of:

Event 1
nation = Krakow
action_a = Poland is reborn
trigger AUS1
action_b = Condem the Revolters
trigger KRA2

Event 2
nation = Krakow
desc = The Revolution cant be stopped .....
action_a = Call for outside support
Trigger AUS2
action_b = we will fight the rebels
raises militancy in Krakow

Event 1
Nation = Austria
action_a = Poland must not form
War with KRA
action_b = Arrg..give them what they want
secede all polish cores
trigger events to Prussia and Russia of the same kind

Event 2
Nation = Austria
action_a = Help the free city
Alliance with Krakow
action_ b = Absorb them
War with Krakow
action_c = do nothing

Event 3
nation = Krakow
action_a = Oh dear
raise militancy by huge ammounts

VIP - Russia

I guess I'll start the russia discussion, since I didn't see one up there. If there is in fact already a thread about russia, please by all means delete this one.

I'm having a problem with the serf emancipation event. It never triggers, despite the fact that it's way past 1861 and I have a liberal government. I've tried triggering it manually through the console, but nothing happens.

Also, while reading through the event, I notice that it does not turn the Krepostnoy culture group into russian, which I thought was supposed to represent the serfs and then become russian after emancipation.

Is there something wrong with my event file?

I've got VIP R:0.1 with the latest hotfix by the way.

this is more of a gameplay question.

On the first - did you fight and lose the Crimean War? \

If not, event 2516 in scenarios/VIPScen/events/vanilla (all vanilla events from Victoria are kept with the VIP events as we have made many changes to them, the mod does not refer to the file db/events at all) has a 1 in 6 chance of firing if you either chose not to fight the Crimean war or you won the Crimean war. The game engine begins checking on 1/1/1855 and checks until the end of 1935. As stated, even if all the conditions are met, there is only a 1 in 6 chance the event actually will fire each time it is checked.

And just to confirm, you installed VIP:R 0.1 Hotfix 6 over Hotfix 2. The mod will be screwed up if you apply hotfix 6 to VIP:R 0.1 by itself without Hotfix 2 already installed.

actually, that game was just acting weird.

I started a new gane and it fired this time around.

thank you for your help.

It may be that the game engine went "brain dead". It has a tendency to do so if you play for extended periods, at higher than above-normal speed, or both. This is why we recommend playing the mod at no faster than above normal speed, and saving and reloading every couple of years to "refresh" the engine.

Yes we can use them. we always accept new events. vip:R 0.2 will likely not be ready until after the New Year so you have until early December to submit.

Krepostnoy In Russia

Who are these pops? I tried to look them up and i cannot find anything about them. Will there be some point where they will convert to russians? On another note, if you go the ahistorical method and execute Lenin, what happens?
