First of all, thanks! VIP .3 works like a charm and is great fun!

I have noticed one bug playing as Denmark.

Your new Schleswig events for NON-AI scandinavia do not trigger the prussian and austrian responses!

Browsing through the event files I can see that the German responses are triggered by the events that happen to Norway and Sweden in response to Denmarks choice. The IDs of these events are different in the AI and the NON-AI versions of both the 1848 and the 1864 Schleswig events but the prussian (and concievably the austrian but I could not find this one) event only triggers if the AI events are fired. I believe a simple "Or" follow by listing both event IDs (AI and NON-AI) in the trigger og the prussian and austrian event files should fix this problem.

Ok, my first game of VIP... I played for a couple of hours and have mixed feelings. I love the events, they add so much flavor. Also the new trade seems interesting (although I'll have to play through to get a good picture). Im also absolutely delighted that the colonisation thing is out, 3 cheers.

But! Being a Hungarian I automatically loaded as Hungary (Austria) and was absolutely stunned that Sopron has a 75% german population. Even a reversed 25% would still be out of line, but as it is... well. Also Székesfehérvár having a 25% german population is also false. I do understand that sopron is close to Wien, but that does not mean that there was steady mix in the population. In fact unlike transylvania, and szlovakia where there were large mixes, the border between hungary and ausztria remained completely intact and the borderlines where quite straightforward. Although there was naturally a small german population (svábok), but they hardly were 75%, in fact I'd put them below a 10% margin. Székésfehérvár on the other hand had none. At least based on my history and hungarian knowledge, but will double check. I do understand Pest had a german population which is mainly the governmental sphere, so a german population (capitalist, officers or maybe even clerks) is a welcome addition.

If needed or the creators are interested I could try to give a detailed description of the former Hungarian territories and their ethnicities. But only if one of the mod developers actually feel it is a worthy addition or something that they are willing to change based on my documentation.

well ive got a fun ptoblrm. rev. 2.01 works great but when i install vip .3 over it and start a new game a get a ctd. what can i do?

Did you do as we suggest and make a desktop copy of 2.01 first before installing, or did you install VIP directly over your root copy of Victoria?

And did you use the installer for PC or the ZIP file for Mac version?

So install Vikki like normal. install rev into a desktop folder, patch vip onto the desktop folder. I then run the exe in the desktop folder. did i get that right?

oh and what's the event number to release canada? Or do i have to wait untill 1940 always?

Ok, one more question in the same vein...

If I already have 0.1 and 0.2 installed, will that lead to conflicts with 0.3, or do I need to uninstall and reinstall Victoria and Revolutions and THEN apply the patch?

If you have VIP loaded in a separate desktop folder from which you play the mod (which we HIGHLY recommend), then the easiest thing is to junk the folder, create a new desktop folder, copy contents of your root Victoria:Revolutions folder into it, and then install 0.3 into the desktop copy.

Personally I would not install 0.3 over 0.2. It is meant to be installed over a clean, unmodded copy of Victoria:Revolutions.

It won't cause any conflicts, since all of the files for the mod will be overwritten, and the ones that aren't used will be junk which isn't referenced in the .eug files anyway.

If none of the German minors exist then Hanover will forever remain a satellite of the UK. I think in HAN 171010 the trigger should have an "OR" statement instead of an "AND" statement to ensure that Hanover does become seperate.

The new version of VIP does a lot of improvement ,especially in trade,rail and factory building by capitalists .New events are also great.But,Russia still is very weak industrially,I know that historically it was behind the mayor powers,but in the game it always ends up behind Spain,Mexico and Brazil.The russian capitalist should be improved.
I noticed few bugs.The German AI is historically aggressive ,in every game it always declares war on Luxembourg,and when the event for the agreement on East Africa with U.K fires,it always declares war on British satellites in Uganda,Kenya or Belgian Kongo.I'm playing on recommended normal/normal.
Also there is a bug in Australia where the province of Nullanbor ( or something like that) remains British even after Australia is created.The problem is that the province is never transfered to the new British satellites ( federal states).
And where is the German colony of Togo?In the previous versions it was wrong geographically ,now in its place is the correct French Dahomey.
But Togo should be those two British provinces in Gold Coast next to Asanti.

Yeah, it has been mentioned about Russia being too weak still. Germany's aggressiveness is also an issue - likely due to cores on Luxembourg gained via event, IIRC.

As for Togo - well there are no provinces for it. You mention the two Gold Coast provinces, but Accra was the capital, and was British. It's the Dahomey provinces whihc need splitting in half, though no work has been done on the map in VIP.

When trying to play the VIP Multiplayer scenario, whilst the scenario loads? Choice of country doesn't seem to matter.

It doesn't occur when loading the single player scenario.

I'm not trying to play multiplayer mind you, i just like being able to see how the other countires are doing in graph form sometimes.

To play multiplayer just add a new country to the single player campaign by going into: C:\Program\Paradox Entertainment\VIP03\scenarios\VIPscen\eugs

Then open Header file.

Just a few lines down you see ENG = { }

Just write FRA = { }

Under it any you will get another flag in the singleplayer scenario and being able to play multiplayer.

Patagonia is currently selectable - I thought it was just going to be a "place filler" nation?

Why? I have played as them. It's fun. Especially in the 60's.
