VIP:R 0.2 for Victoria:Revolutions Technical Issues (Download/Install/Converters)

Note though that we no longer support pre-Revolutions versions of VIP, we are now in the process of developing VIP:R for Revolutions, version 0.3. We highly recommend purchasing the Revoultions expansion as it allows our mod to add a massive amount of new content that is not possible with pre-Revolutions versions.

Patch for Revolutions

In the VIP download thread it says I need "VR 2.01" but I can't find the patch.

2.01 is the version that you get of Revolutions via Gamersgate. So if you DLed it from Gamersgate, you've got it already. (Should say Victoria 2.0 or Victoria 2.01 in small red text at the top right corner of the screen where you choose single player/multiplayer).

Then you presumably have the CD version which means you don't need any patches.

I do have the CD verison, but it still says Victoria 1.4.. even with Victoria: Revolutions installed..

Are you sure you have Revolutions and not just Victoria? AFAIK Rev is only available from GamersGate or on CD from the Paradox webshop (which was recently closed). Some publishers have released bundled Victoria+Rev but I wasn't aware of any of them being outside Europe. If you have one of those you'd probably need to go through the publisher to get a patch.

If you are in the USA, then you likely only have the original Victoria game, not revolutions. AFAIK the only legit way to get Revolutions in North America is via Gamersgate or as jdrou mentioned from paradoxshop.com when it was still open. I don't think the Mac version has been released with Revolutions included either.

If you could scan the cover of the box and post it here that might help figure out which version you have, since there are a bunch of different publishers of the game, and there are European releases that include Revolutions on hard disc now, though to the best of my knowledge they were released in Europe only.

My game keeps crashing, I got a message that I cant open a file called "scenario\VIPscen\events\VIP_ENG_IND_Exchange.txt" When I look there is no such file in my events folder.
Did I miss something during installation?
I have Vic:Rev ->VIPR01Classic->VIPR0.2->VIPR02Hotfix2

Weird bug

I'm currently playing Greece with VIP:R 0.2 and encountered a really strange bug (look at my income):

When I go into the trade and production screens, they look perfectly normal. But somehow the game thinks I'm exporting like crazy.

I post this here and not in the vanilla bug reporting section, because I think it has something to do with my sugar refinery (a vip addition):

Btw, a reload fixed the problem (had to resist the temptation of not reloading and making crazy amounts of money ).

EDIT: Hm, sorry, I should've posted this in the VIP discussion and bugs thread. Maybe someone could merge this to that thread?

Where's the rubber?

So.. I'm playing as a socialist paradise Uruguay in VIP:0.2.

It's 1918, my gloriously over-populated 3 provinces of the peoples democratic republic of Uruguay have reached a total population of 59 million and I'm the #1 GP in the world. Everything is going according to plan.. except for one thing! Where's the rubber?

As far as I can tell, there are no rubber in the entire bloody world, messing up late game economy enormously.
Is this because I only reloaded every ~30 years or so and played at very/extremely fast for most of the game, causing the engine to skip vital events?

And what could I do to avoid this next time? I really wanted my Uruguay to be the prime world exporter of cars and aeroplanes :rofl:

In another thread, I was told this problem is due to faulty installation. If you omit the Victoria 1.04 patch from the process, the dearth of rubber results.

If that post was accurate, you'll need to reinstall as follows:

1) Victoria
2) Victoria 1.04 patch
3) Revolutions
4) OHGamer's hotfixes
5) VIP
