Venice - Poor (-50)
The Venetian Doge has strained relations with Austria due to the occupation and conquest of Siberia from Poland, as well as deciding the Swedish war with Poland and Russia with his entrance. Threats of conquests of the newly constructed Austrian Shipyard in Krain have worsened relations even further. The everlasting presence of Venetian troops (in the numbers of two thirds of the Venetian army) positioned along the Austrian border have sent a signal of hostility to Wien, and relations are very low at this point.

I am happy to know that amongst all your friends (even france has a pretty high relationship with austria? what?), i am the only one with negative relations. :)

By the way, i was only joking in relation with Krain (infact, if you knew what i think about Krain, you wouldnt even dare say that)... As for the Venetian army stationed in Europe: i positioned a lot of men there because HAL is unpredictable and he could have invaded Italy with his entire army. :p

Also: about 100k men stationed on the coast are the venetian special task force (aka marines). These brave men not only conquered Polish Texas all of a sudden, but also bailed Poland out of the war with Sweden (btw, Russia+Poland must have had about 200 manpower, while sweden didnt even have 80 iirc, i merely joined to even the things out).

And frankly, between all your neighbours, i believe i am the most reluctant to go to war against Austria. But obviously, i cant forget my European posessions, and not only they will keep suffering extra fortification in the future, but the biggest portion of the army will remain there (even if i am at war vs any colonial power, the shortest way into America is from Italy).

I have even thought of selling India and Australia, if you want to know. But since i doubt anyone is able to offer me a good deal, i wont.

Wow. Interesting judgement on the reduction in manpower in the portuguese provinces.

I'm not going to argue the point, but I will state for the record, I find this very amusing.

Funny weird, rather than funny ha-ha.

Dear Slargos:

The manpower was given to a HUMAN PLAYER playing Portugal, to make Portugal have more manpower than usual (in EU2 vanilla they rarely reach 10 manpower with their core provinces!). Since NO HUMAN PLAYER was playing Portugal, there was no further motive for the manpower to be as high, since their provinces would inevitably fall into someone's else hands. The country, conquering Portugal, would, literally, have the manpower of 2 nations.

P.S: The manpower correction would have been done via events, but since the day we started playing i couldnt acess my desktop because of lack of eletricity, we had to use a slightly older version of the UMP. In the new version if anyone conquers provinces from Portugal, the manpower decreases, and if Portugal takes em back, it increases again, and so on.

Since Italy sits on more manpower than all of Iberia combined, I really don't see where you're coming from.

...

The OE also has more manpower than all of iberia combined, you want to discuss this with these kind of arguments? Try better.

Italy does indeed have more manpower than Iberia combined, but it wouldnt if you had conquered your italian cores. I had to fight against many AIs at the start, and use my naval might to keep Iberia out of Italy. Had Venice failed, as most Venices do, the story would have been much diferent.

I'm not going to argue the case with you, EGO, since I know it's fruitless. Might aswell argue with a chunk of granite.

It's bullshit, and that's all I have to say on the matter.

Last game Spain had more manpower than even France because of its conquets in Italy and everywhere else. If you neglect conquering stuff, be it in the lowlands (which are your cores), in south italy (which are your cores) or in the lombard (where you also got some cores), then of course your manpower will be lower. You got a lot of extra cultures, apart from Spanish (you even got Berber in order to give you some incentive to attack North Africa).

In fact, Spain did start the campaign by conquering some provinces in North Africa, but as Slargos may not know, they were lost in the subsequent Venetian-Ottoman attacks on Spain.

Since there is no straight, and the former player hadn't conquered them all and already converted them when they had uber monarchs to do so, i found it was only giving ws to the enemy as i was unable to defeat the combined french/venetian navy.

Had they been "european" i would never had rid myself of them, but this was not the case.

Then the dude playing Spain before me was really a moron. The 4 provinses i had didn't have high enough mp to state any in the info, so i figured they didn't.

Northafrica would have been a real boost to both Spain and Portugal and easy to take out even early in the game and convert them.

You mean, where Venice and OE ganged up on (a subbed) Spain, and after most of the war was through, Austria, Poland and Russia attacked OE which still received Venetian aid. There was no 4v1 gang, EGO, the way you're trying to picture it.

It was 2v1 from YOUR side, then it was 3v2 on our side, seeing as Spain didn't participate in our war (although they served a purpose by annoying you with refusal of peace). Oh, and the OE had Selim when ganging up Spain, and Suleyman when defending the northern onslaught. So not really defenseless, even as I had Frundsberg.

Then the dude playing Spain before me was really a moron. The 4 provinses i had didn't have high enough mp to state any in the info, so i figured they didn't.

They were taken early in the game and they were converted. But without a major navy and without any real understanding of the general diplomacy (thinking of the Venice-OE alliance here), the way subs normally are, he could not defend against a combined OE-Venice attack and subsequently lost them (before you joined).

right like you didnt provoke it by refusing any nap, building shitloads of forts in Austria proper and trying to buy off Poland.
I didn't refuse "any nap", I offered naps which you rejected time and again. I rejected naps as well, but you were the one refusing to go along with the naps we already had, by trying to write in clauses on it, compromising our relationship as independent realms in co-operation.
