VIP - Getting AoD to use more RAM when it needs to.

I found this article when googling for a solution. This works with AoD aswell. It may take a while to get the game to speed up if loading a much slowed down save game.

Avast will flag AoD as suspicious, just ignore it, and click "Continue Execution".

I've read that thread, but i'm still not sure if the solution gives any benefits on 64-bit system.

Most probably yes. IIRC the amount of RAM being able to use by single process is limited to 2 GB. Over this value Virtual Memory is used (instead of RAM), which is much slower.

No, 2GiB and that's it, nothing more. Unless both the .exe and the OS are large adress aware.
Does this really work or is there a need for in AoD? I can't remember to see AoD use anywhere near 1GiB of memory.

But i think 2 GB limit refers to 32-bit processes.
BTW, i wonder if 64-bit compilation of AoD could run significantly faster in late game.
