We have found out with pimparel that the "min" clause of the revolt.txt is not working right, for example, i released UKR as a satellite with AUS and they didn't get any claim over the RUS provinces.
To solve that i created this event for UKR:

I have tested it, and it doesn't generate any CTD.
So, now we should prepare a list of nations that have most chances to revolt and that they usually do not get their claims (like in this case, UKR, if they revolt from AUS, they do not get claims over RUS, and the same happens the other way around).
Also, we could add more things to this event, like conversion of POPs if it is needed, adding division, resources, etc...

what do you think?
:D

If we gonna do, we may have to do it for everyone, or wait for Paradox (Again! :D ) to fix it. We may start for the most likely as you said.

Also the event must be persistant, cause the country can be annexed, a revolt again. And maybe add one division would be good, I always saw AUS fall apart just to annex all countries again in one week, granting a lot of prestige.

Ok. Not that the events were bad or anything, just that there were more events for Texas then for most or all other countries.

What about the other stuff?

Steele

I should clarify: there will be about as many events firing for Texas as for the Piritini Republic, based on my tests of the current 0.2 test batch.

There are now quite a few more events for Mexico than before.

be carefull, in HOI the persistant thing allowed you to call an event many times without a problem (using the trigger command in another event).
This doesn't mean that this event will trigger on it's own EVERY time the conditions are met...
We could test it if you want, but in HoI it didn't work... who knows maybe it works in VIcky... :D
I suggest by now the european revolters, like Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Ukraine, Venetia, Lombardia & Slovenia (those are the ones that i remember right now... :D)

It's Piratini Republic. :mad:

And I am no reference for events (I am guilty of creating a lot of events, too), Piratini was around for 10 years, most of the events are to give them a chance of survival. I do think that Texas may have more events than Piratini. ;)

Well, my point is, that normally, when a country secedes, due revolts, they don't have means to defend itself (a classic example would be Haiti vs. Dominic), so a INF should be in need, cause when the country secede, it is automaticaly in war with its 'parent'.

Also, as an example, I saw in one game Ucrania, been freed 3 times (one from AUS and twice from Russia). So we may need 3 events? Or we may need help from Santa Johan. :eek: Maybe, he can deliver us something to Easter?

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not, but...
In the US OOB, the fifth infantry unit is the 5th 'Sightseeing Sixth' Division. This is a bit odd.

Plus, Texas has TSS in front of all it's ship names, which would assumably mean Texas States Ship (USS = United States Ship). Maybe this should be replaced with TS or something.

Steele

TSS = Texas States Ship is correct... I have never seen anyone comment on this before so I guessed it was not an issue. I think you are the only one with that opinion - (is there any others?)

The 5th infantry unit bug that you mentioned is not in the OOB it is in the unitnames.csv which I created (and it was in a beta state at the time) - please check my sig for the latest version, it fixes that bug and also has so much more changes I highly recommend the upgrade.
I mentioned this in the very beginning of this thread too, see here if you are interested :D

I think that the persistent command is valid in Vicky. My main reason for thinking this is the Opium trade event, which can happen multiple times, and AFAIK, is not triggered directly by any other event (but can be slept by other events). I don't know if any other event uses the persistent = yes, so my data may be faulty.

About TSS, it just seems odd. I mean, it's Texas, not Texas States or whatever. I would suggest leaving it off or changing it to TS (Texan Ship).

About the unitnames.csv file, I'll get that right away. ;)

"TSS" is consistent with "USS" and "CSS," but as Steele points out, it would then be an abbreviation for "Texan States Ship," though we could claim it means "Texas State Ship." (But then that makes it sound a bit like the presidential yacht. Hmmm.)

Maybe it should be like "IJN"? Use "RTN" for "Republic of Texas Navy"?

Sorry about the misspelling. No disrespect meant. (I like seeing the Republic survive, when it does.)

My reference point is just observation of the current event schemes, as I have them. I've removed more than 70 event firings from Texas, mostly by condensing event strings, and the rate of events for Texas now is similar to the rate for Piratini -- just to give people who haven't seen the new Texas scheme yet some idea that can be related to.

It does seem strange to me that new countries will appear after a revolt, without possessing even one irregular unit for defense. We'll have to do the best we can. (A certain number of Texas events are designed to allow a bit of a military buildup for survival purposes, too.)

Isn't it possible to modify the revolt file and simply put an Irr Inf into the new countries mobilization pool?

Grosshaus,

The problem is even worst, cause when they are released/rebelled, they don't have:

1) Soldiers, cause all soldiers are converted to farmers, after 1.02;
2) Officers, cause all soldiers are converted to aristocrats, after 1.02;
3) Money;
4) Resources;
5) Prestige;

So, denying the chance to defend itself, properly, denying access to WM, and leaving utterless unprotected to their 'parent' nation, which automatically, declares war on the new nation. Apart the lack of core provinces mentioned by Generalisimo above. :mad:

Johan and crew, MUST help us on this issue, cause it won't be resolved by events. :(

EDIT: Also, you idea in marvellous!!! ;) Hit the mark with Austria, no more freea prestige.

Thank you! I wouldn't have noticed the missing soldiers myself, resolving that gets into the very core of the issue while the prestige part is just a way to limit the effects.

And now back to discussing VIP, sorry for the derail.

The issue has been brought up now, hopefully we'll see a solution some day.

Some day? With HoI within a week, I do hope that the next patch to be a Vicky 1.04?

Thank you! I wouldn't have noticed the missing soldiers myself, resolving that gets into the very core of the issue while the prestige part is just a way to limit the effects.

And now back to discussing VIP, sorry for the derail.

The missing soldiers, were implemented in the 1.01 or 1.02 patch, were conquered provinces convert their army to civilians.
