lite takes out the "flavor events", that is, the events that are there to mention historic happenings and create an atmosphere, rather than having a significant effect on how the game goes.

Is there anyway to become South Africa from Oranje or Transvaal without being annexed by the UK? (fantasy event)

I always thought Nyamweze had more potential than the other African minors, and it doesn't get stomped on (if at all until quite late). What did you have to give the Brits to get those techs, though?

But you do have the option to refuse.
The line of thinking was that as the creation of the Union was generally a British scheme (and had been since the 1850s) that the Boers, if they were not defeated in the Boer Wars, would likely not have wished to become part of any union dominated by the British at the Cape and Natal.
South Africa is defniitely an area where some alt-hist scripting would be useful as much of the basic history has already been scripted. Alas unless we can get more volunteers willing to develop alt-hist lines it will have to sit on the back burner while other regions get their actual historical narratives worked up into events. As great as alt-hist can be, its still window dressing compared to the actual historical structure of the mod. At least in my humble opinion.

Nope, I gave it to the English. All my claims are complete colonies now. The "Claims" button doesn't come up in the diplomatic window.

Ah ok...I think that was the problem. The event is based on the historical trade made by the Dutch and British - Dutch gave up claims (and a couple trade posts) in the Gold Coast they still had in exchange for a free hand in Atjeh, which the British had been protecting. I think the problem is that the event has HOL cede the Gold Coast. Will check to make sure.
Besically, once you get your relations with the British to a certain point, almost any claim building you sell them will reap you a fairly decent profit. I sold them the claims in Berbera and Yebuti in return for a ton of money, and the techs I needed to industrialise. I've been colonising other one-province states as well, and selling them. The money nicely lubricates my colonial expansion.....

Annexing Austria with Popular Unification
Yesterday, I was trying to unite Prussia and Austria with the popular unification event before 1851 to form a greater Germany.
Every German minor was a satellite of mine and so they were all Monachies.
I satellise also Austria so it was a monarchies too. Hungary was an independant nation as it is required.
Then an event happen: The proposition of a greater Germany, The proposition of Olomouz. I had two choices: Dont anger Austria or Reveal our plan to the world.
Then a second event happen: Back down or War with Austria.
Do I have already fail with this event or I have to choose the war against Austria and win to Unite them with me?
I f Im not correct, what is the correct path to Unite Austria and Prussia togheter with trhe popular unification?

In order for the popular unification to happen, none of the german states, including austria, can be monarchies. So what happened to you is the conservative empire event, which will trigger if none of the german states are democracies.
The popular unification event is very unlikely to trigger by itself, as the liberal revolution is just to weak to overthrow all the monarchies, especially the big ones. If you still want it to happen, I advise you to go into the events folder and modify the event, as to make the liberal revolution much more powerfull.

Frilou, had you already fought a war with Austria pre-1851 so that all the German states were now your satellites? If not, then they are probably not your satellites but your allies (you are in a defenisve alliance with Austria and all the other German minors from the start).
It sounds to me like you have the Conservative Empire event, so if you feel strong enough to fight Austria go for it. Note however that most of the German minors, unless they are your satellites, will go to war with you in support of Austria.

3. In order to make sure you don't get hit by the Bismarck Counterrevolution do the following all at the same time or within a few days of each other before the end of 1851:
a. Pass reforms to turn Prussia into a Con-Mon or Dem.
b. Release that one-province Hungary
c. Hope Austria is also a Con-Mon or Dem
