I think that it will be quite hard for the Dutch AI to control 30 percent of the Belgium territory before the London treaty will fire, however, if it would be too easy when you are trying you could turn it to 40 or even 50 (though I think occupying 50% of Belgium befoere the London treaty fires would be impossible for a human player too), also as I said before the province demands in the annexation event should be replaced by a desperation = {country = BEL data = 100}
desperation = {country = BEL data = 100} is imposible to reach, the AI would have signed a peace deal a long time before that. ;)

The desperation trigger is not connected to the War Exhaustion. ;)
Desperation is just the percentage of owned provinces that are not under your control. ;)

Well, as the AI wont reach the first trigger to hold the London treaty from firing, it wont ever have a chance to get that event anyway, and I think I have seen the Dutch AI in vanilla occupying 100% of belgium, so it can happen (Belgium wont accept a peace as the UK is in their alliance!) unless you lowered the Dutch and Belgium hardiness?

Have noticed a very minor bug (more of an oversight really), playing VIP 0.4b as the UK:

In the event "European Intervention in the Second Oriental Crisis", when you hover over the choice "Get European support for forcing a settlement on both sides" among the list of effects of that choice is "Relation with United Kingdom: +10" (ie +10 relations with yourself!). As far as I could tell there were no strange effects from this, it just looks a little bit funny.

I added Carlist Spain after Taear noting the lack of prestige boost for defeating Spain. I don't know if you assume all the countries you mention to be easy or just on some scale. I assumed the latter. Also moved Sweden a bit up.

@Strategist: I would think you would have to be a very good player in order to unite Italy in 36 and beat Austria in 37, and considering the relativeness of this, I would not place Two Sicilies higher than Austria.

I moved China up the list after crash63.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been gone the last couple of days :rolleyes: And I quoted the other scenarios to make it clear which scenario people are talking about.

Probably some 80% and the capital will be enough, no? :D

When I played VIP .3, I used a bunch of slightly modified factory output-input values and costs. When I ran the game with the newly installed VIP .4, I got about thirty error messages in a row that caused a CTD.

I was wondering if putting in these modified text files would be the cause.

Also....maybe I'm just stupid, but how do I get the .4B patch to work? All I get from the download is some inaccesible .rar file that I don't know what to do with.

One thing I'd like to report, I was playing Mexico in 0.4b and switched to the CSA when they were created. I couldn't get Kentucky and Missouri to join me by occupying them, any idea why this is happening?

Also, since the CSA won the ACW (with a 'little' help from UK), I played on as Mexico and I got the CSA wants to buy Chihuaua and Sonora events twice, reducing my relations with them with 2x100, kinda harsh, since they were just asking and do not have claims on those provinces.

While I'm at it, I always crush those pesky Texan rebels and nobody seems to 'gobble up' Cherokee territory, is this suppisod to not happen? This also seems to prevent texas from joining the CSA (after I sold Houston and Austin back to the USA for some nice $$$).

Still, VIP guys, you rock, this makes the game soooo much better!

The 0.4B Patch is one that must be directly applied over the affected VIP files manually - there is no installer. So Open the RAR that contains the patch and transfer the new files to update the older files in the appropriate section of the Victoria game file (db/config/scenario). Basically it is just matching the file in the RAR of the patch to the game file on your HD.

Do you have a program to open .rar (e.g. WinRAR, IZArc, 7-Zip, ALZip, ZipGenius)?

The way the american civil war works is that it builds up "secession score" through those slavery events and various others that fire off. I figure that since you owned Texas for a while, it's secession score never went up high enough for it to leave the Union.
And yea, Cherokee never gets annexed. I've had a few games where the CSA didn't actually WIN, but it gets allowed to continue existing. Cherokee becomes their satellite...and just gets left that way.
If Russia doesn't sell alaska, it never gets the two native provinces either. I'm sure this is just an oversight though.

Incidentally, is there any chance of adding a -prestige and perhaps releasing some of the newly annexed NGF minors to the Fall Of Prussia event? I beat Prussia rather easily, but since they have 2100 prestige, it's left them as numero uno on the Great Power scene. A tad silly, I believe.

On Cherokee, IIRC aprof created a parallel set of transfer events for the lands of the Cherokee to be given to CSA/TEX/MEX depending on how the situation in TEX develops. Not sure what is keeping them from firing but he did make the attempt to cover those alternative results. Will have to check to see if perhaps the triggers are too narrow.

On the question of prestige, we are facing an increasing dilemna in that if PRU or AUS have luck hitting a string of events (esp those cultural "discover realism" type events) right they get very high prestige (even after our tweaking) but many players are complaining that we have hit prestige too much over all. Not sure if there is a way to find that perfect balance between the two concerns. But we'll keep trying.
