Pretty damn good :) we are well underway with fully fleshed out leaders and monarchs and a tonne of events. Beta 4, due for release hopefully this weekend, will take us up to the 1490's and the expected arrival of europeans where we begin our next stage of development.

This is a fairly long term project but we are hoping to make it extremely enjoyable for all to play.

I am currently working on some events. I only have one complete so far, but I will post it here for discussion.

Code:
event = {
	id = xxxxxx
	trigger = { atwar = no }
	random = no
	country = U10
	name = "The Legend Of Nakene Kvinneria"
	desc = "The sagas have told of a legendary journey by a Vinlander in centuries past, who travelled to a far distant land. This land was so warm, that the people sometimes went completely naked. Some considered these only legends, but _insert name here_ believed otherwise. In the great longhouse of Vinland, there exists a small gold statue, wearing a feathered headress. It is rumoured that this statue comes from this same land, and _insert name here_ would like to find out. Will you provide the necessary (but large) funds to allow such an expedition?"
	style = 1
        date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1479 }
	offset = 365

	action_a = {
		name = "Our Priorities Are Elsewhere"
                command = { type = cash value = 10 }
                command = { type = sleepevent which = xxxx } #
                command = { type = sleepevent which = xxxx } #
	}
	action_b = {
		name = "Nakene Kvinner!"
                command = { type = cash value = -100 }
	}
}

We are nearing beta 4, and when it is released we could definitely use some help in determining any bugs that may be in it... :)

I am afraid that I cannot. :(

I seen no reason in keeping it after I had sent it to you, so I deleted it...

Bugger. Its lost then. I thought i had it on my laptop but i didnt. If you can summarise what you did i can recreate it.

I don't really even remember... I just know that Greenland and Iceland were revolters. Greenland has CB shields on the two Greenland provinces, and Iceland has a CB shield on Iceland plus the two Greenland provinces. I gave Iceland Gaelic culture as a secondary one to Scandinavian, due to the fact many gaelic settlers went there... I gave the Iceland province a level 1 fortress, so it won't be conquered too easily. And I included them in alliance/royal marriages/vassalizations.

Like Havard said, I think Iceland should be a vassal of Norway, who in turn is a vassal of Denmark. And we will need to squeeze Iceland into any Kalmar union events, such as when the union breaks up.

And don't forget Birger Jarl's flags and shields for Greenland/Iceland. :cool:

I am remembering also, that the Greenland TPs should probably be given to Iceland, and Norway's knowledge of this area should be removed. This will help solve early European-Vinland interaction.

Yep got them, and made a note about correct ownership.

Beta 4: Current Progress

Looking good so far gents, as opposed to anything particularly groundsweeping its mainly a bug fix and inclusive patch. The next set of events and additions are to be the bigger ones. Here is a quick update of where I am right now:

Minor changes made several weeks ago

- Wakeleader added to micmac reprisal raids acceptance.
- Mid 1460's Micmac leader added (not dormant).
- slight changes to vinland economic rating in vinland.eug

Recent Changes

- edited text.csv to include Iceland (U12) and Greenland (U13)
- edited country.csv to include these nations.
- added revolts.txt to cater for both new nations. Greeland cannot spontaneously revolt but can be created as a vassal.
- changed all the flags and shields except the micmac ones with jarl birgers. This is to test whether they are all ok. There was some debate about the original vinland flag so we shall see if this is preferable. This also includes a revised norweigan flag.
- edited vinland.eug to include iceland (tag U12) as a vassal, and also owning the greenland TP's.
- edited vinland.eug to change sea and land zone knowledge of norway, denmark, iceland and vinland to reflect recent debate.

The other stuff can wait until we have ensured this is completely correct.

Beta 5: Plans

- Flesh out Iceland (leaders, monarchs, events where necessary)
- Include Maliseet and Abenaki
- Improve Inca, include correct geopolitical changes (new tribes) and events
- Improve Aztec, include correct geopolitical changes (2 new tribes) and events
- European "meeting" events and the beginning of post 1490 event scripting

Regarding Iceland getting gaelic culture...isnt that a tad bit extreme? I mean, its not like there were colonies of gaelic people there. There were probably some before the vikings set foot on the land, but they were turned into slaves/killed/etc.

Many people of irish/scottish origin were brought there as slaves later on, but for all other purposes and historically correct, the icelandic people never were and still are not connected to the gaelic culture.

I didnt actually spot that in the original submission, and personally i wouldnt have agreed to it either. For this release they will be scandinavian.

The other option, krunch, is to give them more than one culture... but again is that really necessary?
