I think it would be cool to have an event in which a greedy Confederate naval officer defects to Vinland in the later days (or after) the war. Vinalnd should be given the option to:
a) Welcome him with open arms, obtaining IRON CLAD technology for a small sum of money. This will weaken relations with the US.
b) Turn him in to US authorities, greatly increasing relations between the two nations.

Just a quick thought.

Why not? :) Would you like to write said event or should I? I cannot see any objection to placing it in the scenario.

Been testing the scenario, for some reason the religion trigger does not work, or at least I have never been able to get it to work. :(

So instead I am using flags as triggeers (set in the event where you choose your faith) to determine what religion Vinland is since so many events depend on it, so far my testing has shown these work.

Been fixing some other bugs, I didn't realize that the add_pop command was multiplied by 100,000! :wacko: At least until I had an event that added 800 million Irishmen to Vinland :rofl:

After the great laugh thinking about a world with 800 million Irish (I am half Irish) I fixed all the immigration events.

First off this cool very good. I've a couple of suggestions though...
1 Any option that civilizes should give vinland the techs all civilized countries start with. Perhaps they should cost more cash though.
2 Accepting the aid of UK should increase dixie and yankee militancy.
3 In the Pagan option use the same militancy increase as per the other events, but add a militancy increase of 2 to pagans.
4 In the Orthodox option remove UK and US and add Denmark.
5 All offers of aid should give 5 machine parts... some offers are better than others.
6 My idea with Spain was that Spain should grant a legitimate claim to the colonies they were unable to hold. Meaning cores on some of the former Spanish holding in America.
7 Accepting Danish or Swedish aid should lower militancy of Danes and Swedes.
8 Accepting Russian aid should lower relations to US and UK by -50.
9 Accepting aid from France should lower relation to US by -50 and UK by -100.
10 We should create random immigration events depending on which country one accepts aid from.

A Danish - Vinland conflict?

Well one fella wrote some pro-Denmark Vinland events above (haven't got a chance to put them in yet, but I will), but I suppose depending on the circumstances we can conceivability have pro-Prussian ones too.

If both though, have to deside what series of events would lead to the pro-Denmark group and what to the pro-Prussian ones :wacko:

See I wonder about that, considering every time it happens it is essentially your privateers "getting away with it", but I also see your point as other nations would become increasingly upset.

First off this cool very good. I've a couple of suggestions though...
1 Any option that civilizes should give vinland the techs all civilized countries start with. Perhaps they should cost more cash though.
2 Accepting the aid of UK should increase dixie and yankee militancy.
3 In the Pagan option use the same militancy increase as per the other events, but add a militancy increase of 2 to pagans.
4 In the Orthodox option remove UK and US and add Denmark.
5 All offers of aid should give 5 machine parts... some offers are better than others.
6 My idea with Spain was that Spain should grant a legitimate claim to the colonies they were unable to hold. Meaning cores on some of the former Spanish holding in America.
7 Accepting Danish or Swedish aid should lower militancy of Danes and Swedes.
8 Accepting Russian aid should lower relations to US and UK by -50.
9 Accepting aid from France should lower relation to US by -50 and UK by -100.
10 We should create random immigration events depending on which country one accepts aid from.


Okay, I will rework them and repost them. Still need some sort of later event path for civilizing for those who do not go with the instant option.

Btw. If Vinland goes without help or the help of a smaller nation we don't need to create a civilizing event. There is already one that triggers when you have 100 prestige, 50 economy and 10 military.

No, since the liklyhood that Vinland already obtained it from sweden would be greater (After all Ericsson tried to get employed in sweden-england and then USA. In this scenario i will probably go to Vinland before USA)

If orthodox (WHY? no scandinavians have EVER been orthodox) why will sweden support Vinland.

Piracy - Yes! 50% of Soldier and officer pop should recieve 50 money each time a piracy raid was conducted (against a random unciv country or something, Spanish gold-fleet tradition)

Civil War chain -- Good, like it. Add the possibility to free Native nations if sucsessfull war. Vinland should have alliances with the natives in the future.

Maybe you have to add in the trigger

I am sincerely thinking about adding this event, as I doubt Vinland would have ironclad technology by the mid 1860's, espically since this scenario is based on VIP and tech takes more time in that scenario, and this is at least part fantasy.

Well there are no dixie Pops in the beginning, so either they would have to immigrate on their own or through an event.

Tried that, both with and without the country tag. There are virtually no examples as no other events seem to use the tag so it may simply not work. I should place it in the bug report thread. The flags work just as well though as a subsitute.
