Is there anything that might be causing this? Not one single character is raiding, I've played a couple of short lived games and noticed this with the most recent one allowing all characters to raid rather than just vikings. I am able to raid, and I don't see any conflicts anywhere that would affect this. Other than HIP I mostly just have aesthetic changes for the interface installed. The two that aren't add the fourth crusade event, and prevent cultural buildings from being lost when you change cultures.

It has nothing to do with HIP. I have had the issue playing the TWK mod as well.

I've noticed this too, and it's made me scratch my head quite a bit. I'm currently trying to provoke more raiding w/ some defines tweaks (though sadly in my current game the Norse fizzled in Britain -- still there but mostly part of Christian realms, and only a matter of time until Christianized -- but then Denmark turned into a megapower, and they have a huge realm, so the AI won't raid at that realm size (need many tiny realms basically, which is why we rarely see Berbers raiding too).

But yeah, something besides that is going on & it's not just a HIP thing.

I was able to tweak some defines that made viking raiding start happening again. However, it's still not nearly on the scale I would expect with those defines at the values that they are. If there's an interim HIP release before Holy Fury (almost certainly will be), then I'll include the super-aggressive defines, but hopefully the devs will have solved whatever is making them so shy by the time HF is released.

If it's just the defines file, could you share what you changed here?

Been months since there was a ck2 patch. I'm surprised with such a game breaking bug, you'd think they would administer a patch just for it alone...

Yep. I was thinking the same.

What did you do to make them raid again?

I tried using "NDefines.NAI.RAID_AGGRESSION", raising it to twice the normal amount, then ten times, and a hundred times; but to no avail.

According to the define comment for vanilla, that number actually works the opposite way of what would be expected. The comment says "-- General frequency of raids. A LOWER number means more often!". So apparently by increasing it you were inadvertently making raids virtually impossible.

Edit: Although it doesn't seem to matter at the moment because I just tried setting that value to 1 and doing everything else I could imagine to encourage raiding and I also saw none happening at all.

If it's a base game issue (probably) then we'll need to wait for an official fix.

They don't appear to be interested in fixing it.

They're more concerned with the new DLC as it seems.

I don't see any addition to the beta or alpha. Am I wrong ?

Yep (you're wrong). Not going to dig up a link to the exact commit, but it's in the EMF Beta. [Sorry that I haven't documented any of my most recent slew of defines changes and a few other things in the EMF Beta Changelog, though.]

Hey @zijistark, good to see you around mate.

No worries, I know you're busy. I already have your latest alpha built actually. But I don't see any raiding. I mean I have played at least 10 games with no raiding at all.
Have you seen improvements on your end with that fix ? I guess Paradox Devs should have fixed it already, but they're ignoring our request for an quickfix, before the next DLC. Check here.

Plus could you please take a look at the Seljuk conquest event 1066 start ? it's not firing any more, in any of my latest games. I have reported it many times during the previous months. They never conquer Anatolia, so no formation of Rum. 0/10 in my tests so far.

You could also check the armor smith event bug, I have spotted it with
Shelll's help and already fixed it here.

PS
@All
Guys please start bumping this official bug thread so Paradox will hear us.
They're just ignoring our hotfix requests.

CK II - AI doesn't raid

Cheers.
