Prologue: Haraldr I Halfdansson Yngling of Norway and Aragon
Prologue
King Haraldr I of Norway and Aragon
850 - 923
Saragossa, October 22, 923
King Haraldr looked out side the palace window. As beautiful the Ebro valley was, he pined for the fjords of his native Norway. He sighed. Over 30 years had passed since he had first stepped foot in Spain. He remembered the first time he stepped off his longboat when he raided the Sultan of Andalusia for the first of many times. It was then that he fell in love with the country and swore to return with a larger army and claim for himself a little sunshine.
An Yngling always keeps a promise.
A messenger arrived and interrupted his nostalgia.
"My King. News has arrived from Norway. Prince Hrolfr has been murdered by Prince Ragnarr."
The King sighed again. He knew that this would happen. He hadn't even died and his sons had already started fighting over their inheritance. With Prince Hrolfr dead, Prince Ragnarr of Trondheim would surely inherit the throne.
A second voice came from the door.
"Father. I'm here."
Prince Haraldr of Valencia was at the door. The King looked him in the eye. He wished that he could leave his favourite son his entire Kingdom but he knew that not only would the Jarls back in Norway never accept a King that had never even set foot in their native land, but his half-brother would surely murder him for the Kingdom.
"Son. Before I die, there is something I must tell you."
"Is it about those Christians? You surely haven't been listening to them?"
"Son. It's the only way that I can ensure you a Kingdom. They have the Crown that the Visigothic Kings wore. With recognition from the Christian kings, your Kingdom will at the very least have a chance at surviving."
"My Kingdom? But..."
"Ragnarr murdered Hrolfr. I refuse to allow him to inherit Aragon."
Prince Haraldr was silent. A tear fell from his eye. Bishop Roger, a Frankish missionary entered the room.
20 minutes later, King Haraldr I of Norway was a both a Catholic and the legal King of Aragon.<br>
The next day he was dead.

As you can see, I had to explain away why Haraldr Fairhair converted to Catholicism. I thought about just using the console to get the Kingdom of Aragon title, but then I decided to do it the proper way. The new King is still a pagan however.
