According to BiB, it does use a diplomat now, so chain swapping from the beginning must be tougher. That helps a little..........

I'm glad to see that the AI is much more expansionistic in this game, what with the Timurids annexing every nation that they can get their hands on. I got really tired in EU 1 of France & others beating the snot out of all the nations around it and then accepting status quo peaces...
And what are the odds of Afghanistan renouncing the Hindu faith in the future?

Well... actually i haven't traded a single map :) All comes with pure conquest: Timurid annex Turkey and get their maps. Baluchistan declares independence and gets Timurid's maps. I take Baluchistan and get their maps. Simple, plus no trading required.

Yes, trading maps costs a diplomat right now: plus the AI is much less likely to accept your offer.

That was an information problem in EU 1 - growth rate is really over ten years. So, 1.2% growth is correct in EU 1 when 12% is reported. The game should either display either 1.2% or 12% for 10 years. I am not sure if there is any "compounding" in the calculation - i.e. to get 12% over 10 years means having something less that 1.2% per annum growth.

I think he meant the "12% bug", which I asked about earlier...........and Hjarg avoided saying whether it was fixed or not.:(

You know, the one that islands such as Isle Royale suffer from, where the population climbs at a rate of one a month (so in the game's terminology, for a ten year period from base 100, that's a 120% growth rate!)

Sorry, i thought i said it already: not fixed, i get 12% growth rate for my colonies around India. But in Africa, i get the same good old negative bonus... so maybe it's region-dependent?

Yes, but in EU I it was imposibble to bring population to 1000, due to fact population loss after taking city stopped at 5000,

700, Maur13, 700. That was the lower limit-it was quite easy to send a city below 1000 sould in EU.

Yes, you did mention your colonial growth rate, but not if it was still buggy compared to, say, 11% growth. Thanks for telling us that it still is, since that gives you a small but useful advantage as Vijayanagar in India.........................:)

Eh, no, negative natural growth couldn't bring colony under 700, yes, but i was speaking of population loss after succesful siege, which stopped at population level 5000-after that only negative growth could bring it down, and it means it would take a lot of time to shrink population from 5000 to 1000 that way...

Then I must be missing something, as I've seen provinces go below five thousand during sieges....I think. Anyway, once it's down there, the next siege'll take it lower.

But if that's true, then I guess they may have changed it. It depends on the nature of fortress garrisons..............:)
