I believe that the rival bases don't really exist in the game, just their rockets popup and they're real. A thought, It would be nice, good or great to view the rival bases in real time when spying on them (true spying and not just information about the base) "like a mini popup viewer window to checkout there base' and to see of all the expeditions that are made by the player colony too. I would love see the rocket being destroyed during the expedition and instead of receiving a notification that I had lost the exploratory forces! Just a bit more details to see during the game.
