Hello all!

This is just a mini dev diary detailing a few new things in VIET Event's upcoming version, since it will be more substantial than usual. Just a little window into the depths of insanity you call a HIP modder. For those of you hoping for more information on the Immersion revamp, I also have a little preview for that below, but we will give you more detailed information at a later time when we've done more work.

Anyways, onto the main topic. A lot of us have played as Messalians or Zoroastrians. Do we play them because they are underdogs? Do we play as Messalians because we like the gender equality or the worship of Satan? Do we play as Zoroastrians to restore the glory of the ancient Persian Empire by driving out the Muslims for the glory of Ahura Mazda?

Of course not.

We play them for the incest.

Sadly, vanilla CKII doesn't give us much immersion when it comes to some good ol' sibling love. Hopefully, with the next VIET update, that will change, as I will add in over fifty-two new events dealing with (mainly brother-sister) incest, allowing you to experience the many aspects of incest. Yes, you read that right, over fifty-two events. That's more events than PI gave to all the non-Norse pagans combined. These events range from...

The initial confusion that love brings
FTjKb4K.jpg

To the beginnings of a deeper relationship
BwjAG7V.jpg

To dealing with narrow-minded bigots who look down on your relationship
0mqc6Ap.jpg

Of course, there's more to incest than just some good old tumbling. Otherwise, the events would eventually turn into softcore porn. So I did my research, read up on some history and religious scripture, and so on, to ensure some variety when it comes to the incestuous events. These include events that deal with things like...

Legal debates
dUO2fke.jpg

And demon exorcism through incest
wZaA5Ef.jpg

(as I've told Ziji, in Zoroastrian scripture it is said that committing incest can fucking kill demons. It's perfect hentai material. Can't explain that!)

Speaking of ziji, big round of applause to the fellow for challenging me to come up with 50 incest-themed flavor events. I had to accept his challenge out of pride and honor, so here we are.

Anyhow, the next update won't just have some incestuous events, for those of you who have been deluded by the lies of Angra Mainyu and aren't interested in boning your siblings. I have heard some of your complaints about how baklava seems everywhere. In a way, I agree. There's plenty of delicious food out there, so we shouldn't let baklava monopolize things - therefore, I'll throw in twenty hummus-flavored events.

JMBFZyp.jpg

There's also ten events about male/female gaze and eye candy or something relatively boring compared to hummus and incest, bringing the grand total of new events to 82 for the next update. This makes this update officially the biggest update for VIET Events ever.

Lastly, I want to show a couple of screenshots detailing the progress Ordep and I have made on VIET Immersion. We've just started adding in some of the themed updates into our dev build. For instance, here is the ERE meeting an early death in a test game I've run with the Turkish empire, which VIETerans may recall I added as a feature in the Turkish themed update.

K4RmySF.jpg

However, although we are devolving and removing things, we are still going to add in a few new things here and there. For instance, there is a random event where rulers of the Turkish Empire can “promote” a lesser concubine (or, in game terms, get a new spouse). She will often be of one of the ethnic minorities found in the historical Ottoman Empire, such as the Greeks or the Georgians, or one of the peoples who were targets for slave raids by the Ottomans and their allies, such as the Slavs or the Irish.

B7HKSsb.jpg

Alright, that's it for now! We hope you enjoyed my shameless self-promoting presentation here, and we encourage you to try another wonderful Zoroastrian the Messalian game, to spread truth and righteousness through the world, and defeat all the incest-hating, deluded, evil, demon-worshipping barbarians out there.

Also, remember to brush your teeth every day or have someone close to you do it for you.

I also cracked when I found out that they believed, that even if it doesn't produce children, having sex with the married relative was of paramount importance as it exuded a powerful energy that kills (It doesn't just drives away or something, no, outright destroys them) demons and other evil spirits. It didn't just kill demons, but made cattle and crops reproduce faster as well. Now that's a powerful orgasm.

The Light approves though. Darkness can only be driven away by love and warmth... blah blah blah... now go and screw your sister :p

I think we were already like that to begin with, but it is only now that we've started to unleash it. (I mean, who the hell puts 1385 baklava themed events in a mod? Who the heck makes some pagan goddess the poster child of a mod?)

Yeah, reading those Zoroastrian texts was quite interesting when I first came across them in my Zoroastrian religion course I took, with them extolling the virtues of Xwedodah. I was desensitized enough to these sorts of things, but this was just another level. It's a complete reversal of what is thought of as normal. I mean, some people think the Otaku community are obsessed with incest, those guys got nothing on the Zoroastrians. And sure, you got groups historically (and maybe even some isolated tribes today) that allowed or encouraged incest - personally I think the Roman-era Egyptians had way more sibling marriages than the Zoroastrians, but the Zoroastrians more than made up for it with their enthusiasm.

As I've told ziji, imagine what demon exorcism shows would be like in a Zoroastrian-dominated alt history. Also imagine all the weird hentai.

This is a thing of beauty...

Not as beautiful as making love to your sibling/parent/child. If you do that, you will bring even more beauty into the world, so get to it.

What Zoroastrian book did you read in particular, I want to add it to my to read list since it's an ancient and "interesting" religion and all that.

For my Zoroastrian religion class I had to read parts of Prods Oktor Skjærvø's Spirit of Zoroastrianism, which is basically a selection of various Zoroastrian scripture and commentaries, such as the Gathas and the Avestas. Amazon link here: http://www.amazon.com/Spirit-Zoroas...1000&sr=8-12&keywords=Zoroastrian+translation

For a quicker, more concise treatment on Xwedodah, I recommend the Encyclopedia Iranica article on it: http://www.iranicaonline.org/articles/marriage-next-of-kin . It makes mention of several Zoroastrian texts, including the main scripture as well as important, later commentaries such as the Denkard.

Edit: In general I recommend encyclopedia Iranica for all your general reliable academic needs when it comes to all things Iranian. It's written by experts in a concise, understandable manner. Only bad thing about the site is that the search function sucks.

You are a sick man and I like it.
Maybe this will be the time to the start my first game as a Zororastrian.

Thinking of this update and your progress with VIET Immersion. Will the implemented Mods like Mazdayasna Zarathushtrish stay in one form or another?
Many of them are flavorful but outdated. It would be rather difficult to add and adjust all of them manually.

Looks like I'll have to start a new game then. :) Is there a specific release schedule you guys follow? Just wondering how long til the newest version is available for us to check out. :)

We're not following a specific schedule no. When to do the next release will basically be a team decision.

We've been re-adding the flavorful content to VIET more or less following the timeline of their release, so we still haven't made it to the zoroastrian stuff. We'll see what we still want and what we need to trim out once we get there.
