[Video] Gutland Liberatus

This challenge started out as a New Year's Resolution, of sorts. I have a friend who is from Gotland, and I promised him that I would, within the year 2017, become great power #1 as Gotland! After a gruesome amount of restarts since the beginning of the year, this was to become the first single-player campaign I've ever finish in EU4! I have about a thousand hours into the game now, but Gotland was the first nation to crack the "Just a Little Patience"-achievement.

With that said, I thought I'd share my little venture on these forums! I don't think my end results are mind-blowing, but I'm proud of my accomplishment. Please enjoy!

(The name "Gutland Liberatus" is a reference to a school project that my friend and I had been working on. Sadly the prototype was never finished, but its spirit now lives on in EU4!)

Excellent. Who were your allies after you ditched GB and were rivalled by Russia? Ottomans? Or were you alone like a real Gutnish?

The Ottomans never wanted to be my friend. I managed to ally their ally, though, Tunis (and they were pretty beefy in this campaign!). I also allied Bohemia and helped them expand a bit, but they eventually dragged me into a war with the Ottomans... the Bohemians really wanted to wipe Austria off the map, but the Ottomans had warned them. I had to help them because of my lack of allies. We won the war, but Bohemia did not get to take Austria's last province. They did manage to convert them to protestantism, though. About 1,4 million men died because of that. I also had Ashikaga as an ally for a little while... I guess I don't have to say what happened with that alliance.
