Unknown X,

I looked into your Brazil.AI, and checked that you put Brazil beligerant towards Paraguay and Uruguay and befriend Argentina.

This is ahistorical, cause in mid-century there was a treaty among ARG, BRA and URU creating the Triple Alliance to fight the PAR, who attacked BRA and URU, this was the start of the Paraguayan War, the worst war in South America.

Hmm...ok, i belive it is ahistorical. I just tried different combinations, that are most useful for Brazil ai, but as it is strongly ahistorical, i will remove it.
Oh, mybe you could provide me with some informative links (or the name's of the books) that have info about South-America(it is one of my weakest spots:( ) .

Get into VIP south america. It is in my sig.

Any doubts PM me, I am already coding events for Brazil, however I couldn't look into AI, yet.

Historical in vicky timeframe, in S.A. we had two major conflicts. BRA, ARG and URU vs. PAR, wher PAR was the aggressor. and BOL and PER vs. Chile.

BRA and ARG were "protectors" of URU a state created to decrease the tension between the two.

Unknown X,

I looked at how the rest of the wordl was doing in 1862 and there were a few disturbing things. One, for the second game in a row, there seems to have been no U.S. civil war. Also the Chinese hadn't moved into India (which is probably good), and the Russians had taken all of Iraq and most of the eastern parts of the ZOttomon Empire. The French hadn't advanced beyond experimental railroads, but did have most of Africa.
I played up to the unitew or die and trust me its die if you go to war with Austria and Prussia. I had fortified my borders and had 30,00 troops in ewach province with an 80,000 troop reserve, it didn't matter the Austrian could blow holes through my lines with their massive armies. I've already got all but one Italian province so I think I'll reload and not chose unite.
Still a very good mod. The market is acting better, I'm not rolling in cash like I used to be. The extra costs to build the factories and the relative collapse of luxury good prices has kept the game more balanced.

Austria is way too powerful, it has strong industrial capacity and a lot of manpower. One of the five states that can build a lot of infantry divs, when at peace(beacuse Austria has steady income of mp even when defense budget is to minimum - Because AI always keeps defense budget to minimum when at peace).
But, even as i write i'm testing new possibilities that will cripple Austria, but would not disturb the balance of power in Europe.

Hmm...Varangian, could you post the top 10 countries in your game(if that isn't too much toruble).

NB!Only AI's that i have changed in America are Mexico and Brazil(S-A), but i intend to fix that situation soon.

As of 1887, here are the top ten:

UK 1045, 729, 869
France 1698, 136, 456
Netherlands 1850, 31, 119
Austria 769, 95, 2045
Sardina 1312, 37, 451
Germany 736, 95, 2045
North German COnf. 893, 10, 334
USA 408, 123, 1074
Russia 363, 174, 754
China 0, 140, 1875

The figures are prestige, army, industry

The austrian industry number is incredible, over twice Britain's and equal to Germany's. On Austria, I was wondering if ther was a way to code in increased revolt risks in the balkan provinces and to reduce their troops reliability. Just a thought.

Huh, i have been messing around with pop's supply consuption and i must say that increasing and adding some new goods to their *needs list*, make worldmarket work better and gives player harder time to please it's overall population(hah...i'd be a madman if even considering taking max trade taxes from my pop's after increased supply consuption - it really matters now).

NB! Please give me suggestions about any changes i should implent into my mod. I wan't the next release to contain much more changes and tweaks - some people are really annoyed having new version every other day.

Thank you in advance!

May I politely ask what the goal of this mod is? :) I mean, is it have each individual country perform as good as theoretically possible, or do you try to keep the AI within historic limits?

Unknown X,

The supply consumption and changes to factories really help the game. The biggest problem is still Austria. In my current game, they are still untouchable. On a good note, China is a distant 8th and the balance of power after Austria and mighty Sardinia is about right; UK, France, Germany. Netherlands are a little too high at number 5, between germany and France.

Making countries act stricktly as they did historically would be pointless, because human player never-ever play's it out historically - why should ai?
Ofcourse ai countries will have it's historical ambitions(mybe more), but the means to archive them may differ.
Main point of this mod is to give *me* maximum challange and the best way to archive this is to let others test it aswell.
I hope to start working with V.I.P project when they enter alpha phase - Hope they need my services:rolleyes: .

Unknown X,

If you've got a way to slow down the Austrians, I'm willing to test it. The austrians really through the game out of balance. Whatever you did with the economy seems to have slowed down the chinese.

I think the biggest problem with Austria is the excessive number of Hungarian educated pops. Also, have you tried limiting the amount of railroads built simultaneously?

hmm...removing hungarian culture from Austria has very positive effect on overall gameplay. Also limiting railroad building and decreasing railroad build priority has some effect.
One other thing to take into account is the fact that i have increased research time for later tech, espec. railroad tech.
Still, i have to do a lot more testing, but i can promise that my next version of Victory X mod will offer much more challange and even more ruthless AI.

Unknown X,

Is it possible to make the changes for Austria NOT dependant on the AI? When I was waiting for the game to arrive, I was planning on playing Austria first as I thought it would be a challenge. If your changes are done primarily to the AI, then someone playing Austria will still ahve a relatively easy time winning. I was thinking, beside dropping the state culture (unless/until you get a dual monarchy event), you could possibly raise the revolt risk and decrease troop reliability. Having to fight off rebellions and not knowing if your troops are going to stand firm would make life more interesting. Just my two cents. Is there anything you want me to look for with the current mod??? I'm going to finish up the Sardinia game tonight. I'm willing to try another country if you need something tested.

Thank you, Varangian for your help. Right now i don't think there is much point in testing this old version any futher, because i have made some changes to new version that change things quite alot.
You have done a GREAT work, so you have earned a day off.
But, if you have any other suggestion, please, let me hear them.
