It is 1839, and the UK has gone republic... What were they smoking? :D

Well, if to be more precise, is it possible to make some countries never change their governments to more liberal, except by force. I am generally shaken by combo of democratic Prussia/Russia/Austria by some 1860-1880. And that's a trend, not an exception. I understand that democratization must hit most of the countries, but the ones that are supposed to impersonate conservatism must be left out of th process. Isn't it what AI files do? If I am wrong somewhere, please correct me. I am no expert.

u -x-,

In the BRZ_36.ai and BRZ_MOD you use these TAG: PAR (doesn't exist, Paraguay is PRG) and BRA (is Bradenbug)

In the PER_36.ai named as PERU AI you use CHI (CHI is china, Chile is CHL), or this event is to Persia?

VEN_36 again PAR.

Hah, dammit...so many errors in my last mod. This is an old Peru AI file, that was replaced(atleast i thought so) ages ago. Thank you for pointing out the tag errors...when you have to deal with so much AI files it really makes such mistakes easy to come...

oh...and, pimparel, i have some free time today, so i'll try to integrate your AI files and some events into my mod. I'll give you some feedback on these AI files then.

Unknown X,

A further update on the playtest. The year is 1887 and the world is very interesting.

1) Prussia is effectively out as a power. Repeated wars with France and a bad war with Austria has reduced Prussia to about 16 provinces. Most of the western provinces are gone.

2) Croatia and Ukraine are still independent.

3) Turks have held their own so far, gaining a few Egyptian provinces.

4) There is still a coastal african province that isn't colonized, and most of the interior is still untouched.

5) The Italian wars have been devastating, deplopulating the northern parts of Italy. As Two Sicilies, I control almost all of the Italian provinces. Asutria controls 4, Sardinia controls 1, and Lucca controls 1.

Problems/Issues:

1) Still an amazing shortage of paper in the game. A paper factory is a real money generator.

2) Money is very tight (which is good). Less than half of Italy has level 1 railroads.

3) Wars are much more frequent. France has gone to war close to 10 times in 50 years. France has gained 11 european provinces but it's prestige is in the negatives.

4) Denmark, Prussia, and at least one other European country has gone bankrupt (probably due tot he wars).

Hope that helps.

Hmm...i know that paper prices were 23-34 all the time per unit, but i was always able to get paper when needed. Are you saying that there is problem getting paper or you think paper is too overpriced. (NB! Paper price should fall when 1-3 new factories are built)

Unknown X,

In the late 1860's/early 1870's as the #10 power, I was not able to get enough papere to promote pop. I ended up building a paper factory so I didn't have to rely on the world market. I'm still leaning toward eliminating some of the clipper factories and making them fabric or some other basic factory and maybe adding one more paper factory somewhere. In your mod efforts, please change some of the Mexican pops to craftsmen. I would like to play a mexican campaign.

I'll try to finish up the current game tonight. I'm enjoying it, especially the almost seven years of constant war in northern Italy. Sardinia's population never recovered after the unite or die (they got the event). We fought for almost two years and they lost at least 240,000 men, probably closer to 400,000 by the end of the war. The rest of the game will be spent trying to develop the economy and infrastructure, plus trying to buy the three-four non-core provinces off of Austria. I can't fight them, they are too strong with the provinces they took off Prussia and Russia. Good mod so far.

Im experiencing a slight bug with your mod. I installed a fresh version of 1.02 and started your mod as Prussia, now despite the fact that my budget view window says I am gaining 43.5 pounds a day, I am in fact loosing 7 pounds a day, this has never happened to me before. Just wondering if you might know what is causing this.

That seems to be the bug where changes in the ledger do not take effect untill you exit the budget screen.

Unknown X,

Just an update on the current test/game. It's 1900 and it's been fairly peaceful over the past 5-10 years.
-France controls all Prussian territory up to Berlin and parts of Hannover
-Cuba, Java, Ireland decclared their independence
-Mexico still controls the southwest of U.S. and Texas still exists (2 provinces)
-Brazil is a great power (#8)
-UK is handing China their head. In the current war, UK occupies almost all of southern (south and west of Hong Kong)
-Two Sicilies (me) controls all of Italy except Trento and 80% of Croatia and Slovenia (war against Croatia and purchased provinces from Austria)
-Most of the interior of Africa still isn't colonized!!

Current shortages on the world market: furniture, explosives, paper, clothing.

I haven't seen any game breaking problems with the mod. Austria is still very powerful and the Russians and Ottomans have both lost very long and expensive wars (in the last Ottomon war, both states had 90%+ war exhaustion, Ottomans gave up the the former Yugoslavia and parts of Bulgaria).

I think you're getting close.

hey unknown X are you going to add some events to your next update?

Adding events and making sure they work as ordered takes a lot of time and testing. But, i can assure that pimparels excellent Brazil mod will find it's way to Victory X scenario, and mybe some other smaller event mods.
My next goal is to make(after patch 1.03) two versions of Victory X - one for beginners and the other for DIE-HARD victoria gamer. The harder version would contain ai files that are made for best peformance against human opponent. Also there will be hidden events to help AI to fight against any threat from human player.
Beginners aka Regular Victory X will feature new events, better world market. AI files that are tuned for better historical outcome and etc. This is going to take alot of time and testing so i'm happy to recive feedback and new ideas!

Varangian, could you send me your savegame, so i could take a look at the current situation there.

Trying it out

I'm going to try this out!

Too bad there is not a way to blanket changes so the small countries can at least balance their budget. I find it odd that half the world goes bankrupt?

Does this latest version work with 1.02 patch?

I did a search and found that ENG_MOD.AI listed for England in the mod lacks reform priorities whatsoever. ENG_36.AI, to my greatest surprise, turned out to be Spaish (or so it reads). That's the thing with AI for the UK - just add appropriate reform priorities.
