I'm not sure if this has been proposed yet, or acted on, but with the release of the no time limit patches for Victoria it should be possible to adapt the engine to the time period of Europa Universalis II. There are a few issues that I'm not completely certain on the adaptability of, including technology, but from my own experience the game it seems like the engine should be flexible.

This means, of course, a massive overhaul. Events aside, the POP setup would require at least four to five people per region. Not to mention that statistics from the era are very sketchy.

If anyone is interested in this at all, I'd love to see it go through. I, personally, can do everything from POP research to map setup, but I can't say that I'm expert in all of the fields. Veterans modders, especially anyone who worked on the AGC or EEP projects, would be welcome.

I'll make a basic map setup mod tonight, to start things off.

If you want to play a game in the setting of EU2 then play... EU2. Theres no need to mod victoria. Victoria just wouldnt feel right for EU2 anyway.

when do you people realize that Europa Universalis mod for victoria is not going to work, there are just too many new things in Victoria that make it very hard to emulate world of EU.

Dito for Modern Day Viccy scenarios...

Well, my computer...caught fire last night. Yeah. I don't know, either. So it's a moot point, regardless.

I would say that's a rather good idea! just imagine a world free of any countries exepted Europe but I reckon it is a bit "european focused"
but victoria represent better some aspects such as religion, population and economi classes
colonial war would be then very useful
and if europe would be more "overpopulated", emigration would be much more relevant

I think it's a fine idea if it's balanced right. There is a great deal that the VIC engine simulates that I think would have added to the EU2 engine - like, as was mentioned, class, multiple religions and ethnicities, and consciousness. The only shortcoming about the VIC engine, as far as I can tell, is that it allows the whole map to be seen at once. But...*shrugs* for the player this isn't too important since we already know the world map.

Given the adaptability of the VIC scenario/event structure I think that any other shortcomings can be pretty easily overcome.

EU2 scenario won't be fun with Victoria engine...trust me!

Why?

The only thing that I can think of that could not be simulated by the VIC engine that was in the EU2 engine is unexplored territory, and that always seemed to be a bit bizarre anyway. There are ways of simulating exploration by events anyway.

The world market is more inaccurate for the period of EU2, but it is nothing different from the way that EU2's economy worked in this respect.

But the whole Vicky economics model is made to simulate an industrialized society. What are you gonna do with Vicky and not having any factories and/or railroads? You'll be extremely poor until the Industrial Revolution with no army and therefore no change, really (and -1000000 prestige because of bankruptcy), a rebellious population who can fulfil their needs even less than in 1.03 (and removing the "industrial" needs will probably just make them NEVER want it, AFAIK), etc. etc..

I'm hoping for EU3 (though I don't even have EU2 )
